Hey everyone, I first discovered this site somewhere around 2011-2012, around the time I got my first vehicle, a 1988 base model Hilux(pickup because I'm in the US). As soon as I got the truck I wanted to lower and mod it, but never got around to it because I was 18 and didn't have the money or determination to make it happen. Fast forward 12 years later, I'm getting stuff done! I will attach photos of the truck from the day I got it, and a couple that were taken very recently. I've removed the ugly mirrors it used to have, removed the rear bumper, put a tach on the steering column (with zip ties ) and replaced the old headlights with LEDs. Currently in the process of replacing upper and lower ball joints, and installing 2" drop spindles from Belltech along with their Nitro Drop 2 shocks and some 3" lowering blocks. Currently sitting on some ugly 14x7(rough guess on the width, I don't have them here to measure) dayton-knockoffs. Fairly sure I'll have to go with larger wheels to accommodate for the Belltech 2" drop spindles, so if you have any suggestions feel free to share them with me. I'M SO ECSTATIC THAT THIS SITE IS STILL UP AND RUNNING!! This is where my dreams for the truck first started and 12 years later I'm able to share it with this forum. Truly awesome

Good looking truck to start a project with, Steve! Good luck on the ball joints, are you replacing with oem Toyota? They're a pretty penny but I suspect worth it.
So i actually went with some Napa brand ball joints, and they're so much better than the original ones that were on there, granted those were 36 years old lmao. I have a thread in the builds section titled "Lowering Truck Norris" if you want to check it out
Glad you're back! I've been restoring my 87 and you are definitely giving me good ideas! Let us know how that drop spindle works out please!
Welcome back & glad you were able to get back on the site. As I have been a member since 2008, "TRUCK ACTION", but after a computer crash, lost all passwords & such, & not able to log on with my user name & or change my password. Leaving me to have to create a new user name, as NO RESPONSE FORM THE ADMINISTRATORS!
The drop spindles are 10/10 great! Go check out my thread in the 84-88 build up section, I'll drop you a link https://toyotaminis.com/forum/threads/lowering-truck-norris.30537/page-3#post-250128
Sometimes I really do wonder if there are any admins left on this site. Not that I see inappropriate stuff, or stuff that doesn't belong. But I would assume that with this being the awesome community that it is, you shouldn't have that much trouble getting your old account back. I'm sure that sucks, and hopefully someday soon you can get back into it. But either way it goes, glad you're still around and still posting.
