Thanks for the bump and compliemnts. I haven't done much more to the truck because my employer has announced a large layoff beginning the month of June and I need to save up cash. I dont know if I will be affected but I have been building my cash reserve and working on a plan B for income (just in case). I have never been concerned about my employment in my life until now.

    Anyway....

I just welded a small piece of angle iron to the back of the bumper under the small opening to serve as a lip to mount the foglights. I dont have the dimensions of the fog lights but they were around 2"x5" I think.

Go for it. I share my mods so people can use them if they like. Now, make sure you share your brake mods with us:D

It's on the passenger side og the motor, near the motor mount bracket.

I have always wanted to try that hood scoop idea.

I like it and thanks for trying it on one of your hoods first.

The suspension only had 3 inch lowering blocks (one was cracked)
in the rear and cranked down torsion bars. I am not building this for drifting. Just a fun street truck with an occasional run at the drag strip. I really can't see how this pickup would be an effective drift vehicle with its off balanced chassis. Hell, it's even a poor drag racer.

    So,
I felt that my truck could use some toughening up. I decided to add something that would make it look more menacing.

I pulled the push bar from a nissan pathfinder in the J/Y.
The grill will be reinstalled shortly and I plan to install some round amber foglights in the push bar.
I also found the perfect mirrors for my truck. They are from an early toyota celica/ corona.

    Hey Frizno.
The motor has been holding up remarkably well. Especially since I am running the ecu from an early celica (83-84). It's a naturally aspirated ecu and it does not control timing. I have the timing fixed at 10 degress advanced. I tweaked the afm to deliver extra fuel so it runs alittle rich. I will go with SDS engine management next year. The exhaust gas temps are at a reasonable 1200 degrees after a long hard run. The temp drops to 900-1000 during cruising. I have noticed the egt drop after I installed my intercooler but I did lose 1-2 lbs of boost ( now 9-10 psi versus 11-12 w\o the intercooler) but it is safer. The next mods will be a walboro full pump and 7mgte injetors.

If you want to keep your truck reliable and streetable you should:
    1) first buy a wideband o2 sensor to help you with tuning.
    2) upgrade your fuel pump
    3) add an intercooler
    4) increase the turbo output to 10-12 psi by shimming( I shimmed the wastgate by placing 2 washers between the wastegate mouth and the compressor housing).
5)Tweak your afm for additional fuel.
6)Then add some 7mgte injectors or other injector upgrade. These trucks wake up at 10 psi.

My next upgrade will be a 8.8 rear out with disc brakes from a ford explorer. Clash for clunkers has dropped a crap load of them in my local j/y.

you know, I actually was looking at a 8.8 swap just the other day. only problem I can see is that it´s a little wider overall. Could run into some clearance issues with your wheels/tires/bedsides if your not careful.

Yeah, that's true but I am going to cut the wheels arch on the bed and install a set of 4runner bed flares from Hanneman fiberglass.

The additional width is welcome because I have a pair of 16x8 starion wheels that I will have widened to 10 inches ( adding 2 inches to the back half of the rim). The wider axle will ensure that the widened rim will not rub the frame.

I hope to pull an explorer rear this weekend.
