Sounds really good. Thanks for the brake info. About what I figured. You're gonna need a 4 link if ya got wheel hop. Leaf springs suck with blocks and power. I can twist mine til 3rd some days and have half as many pistons.

Yeah but the wheel hop just started recently. I'm sure the bent spring is contributing to it. I'm gonna install some slapper bars after I fix the spring.
Today I found a toyota UHaul truck in the yard. It was the v6 model with a huge front sway bar. Had to grab it. Here's a pic of my original bar next to the UHaul one.

The UHaul had dually front spindles and rear axle. Has me considering going dually with my shortbed. Nice big polished dually wheels with a good drop. Hmmmm.......

SD mentioned once they have a number stamped into them telling thickness in MM.

Can anybody compare a sway bar from a 78-back to one of these?

Hey Terolla. I recognise your name. You've been in the toyota game as long as I have. You know that oldschool yotas is a way of life. Eat, think, live toyotas.

I have one. Grabbed it a year ago from another Uhaul. It's rusty as hell. Need to hit it with a wire wheel and paint it. Been waiting to do my ford 8.8 swap before i install it.

I can post up the measured thickness of these tonight.

    Nashman,
I was gonna pull the trigger and buy a belltech swaybar soon but I copped this for $18. I'll spend $25 on urethane bushings and end links and call it a day.

    BTW,
The dually conversion is a no go. Seems that no aftermarket company makes a dually wheel that matches the toyota's weird bolt pattern.

    INB4WHEELADAPTERS......NO WAY!!

What's the bar width from eye to eye? And from corner to corner along the center straight part? Ill compare those to my lux bar. Maybe it can be modified on to work. Hilux bars are super wimpy.

^ Thanks for the heads up. I am anxious to install the bars. I'm running the truck without any sway bars and it sucks!
Here's the rusty rear bar I grabbed from a uhaul last year.

    Byker88,
Both the front and rear Uhaul bars are 1 inch or 25mm thick.

    Front bar:
eyelet center to eyelet center = 40"
corner to corner = 27" before it starts to bend, 28.5" at full 90 degree bend

    Rear bar:
eyelet center to eyelet center = 33.5"
corner to corner = 33" before it starts to bend, 37.5" at full 90 degree bend

Only one way to find out. And you'd want a spare. Cut it in half lol.

    Yeah,
I have the rear mounts too. They are buried under crap somewhere in my garage.

Thanks for the numbers ill compare it to a hilux bar. It'll be a cool swap if it works. A rear sway bar is easy, I just haven't found a better stock one.

Have you thought about runnin the front bar from the upper arm?
