Im gonna ask a stupid question. If I were to stuff one of these in my truck, bagged and bodied to the rocker.would it clear the stock hood?

How far below the engine crossmember does the oil pan go?

    A 1UZ powered bagged/bodied on 18s Toyota...well hello Mini Truckin cover!

what if you notched the floor pan on each side and threw the exhaust over the tranny xmember?

Got some things done over the past week.

I Herculined the firewall which helped cover the patch welds I did to close the holes for the a/c lines and handbrake cable.

Fully boxed the 1x2 square tube x-member I welded in.

Installed new upper and lower balljoints. Removed the brake shield.

Relocated the o2 sensors since the passenger side hit the frame.

Found a serpentine belt for the a/c delete.

Reinstalled motor for, hopefully, the last time.

Just clears the drag link by a nut hair.

    Exhaust is coming along nicely.

The passenger side exhaust turns 90 degrees toward the driverside exhaust to join at a y-pipe. Then through a flowmaster and out the rear rollpan.

ohhhh make it a beautiful y-pipe, please!

man that drag link is close, I'm scared engine vibration under load would cause contact.

^ You guys are right about the concern. However the motor mounts are all steel.
I went that route because off the tight clearances to the draglink, crossmember and 2.5" exhaust tubing. All these part would be banging away with rubber mounts. Hopefully the vibration will not be as bad as the 22r with solid mounts.

Well, My project slowed down because I was spending my free time helping a friend swap a 1UZ into a 87 Supra. We just got it running over Labor Day weekend. The plan is to get both of our 1UZ powered yotas to the drag strip before the racing season is over for a few friendly races.

After hearing his car run, I was amped to put in some work on my truck. I Herculined the fender wells and put the fenders, bumper and grill on. Then I painted the valvecovers hammered red.

Yeah. I haven't requested the moderator to change the title because I can't come up with a good title. Maybe "Yotarip's Project Afterbirth V8 truck".

^ Well, I started out just looking for a rust free stock truck to haul household trash and conduct junkyard duties. Ended up making this a project far beyond what I intended. It's gonna be nice though. There's a guy in my neigborhood that regularly passes my house in a clean S10 with a small block. Sounds very nice. Gives me inspiration each time I hear him go by.
I'm gonna cruise by his house a few times when she's ready.

I am considering turbo in the future but I probably would not be able to stand the down time to fab it up.
    Reinstalled my dash.

Installed diamond plate in the glove box to mount the relays needed for EFI. I mounted the ECU to the back of the plate.

Found my oldschool Toyota emblem while going through my stash.

Gonna add some paint and mount it on the grill.

The motor is almost ready to run again.
The oil filter is hitting the steering box mount. Will need an oil filter relocation kit before I can start the engine.

    Final things needed are:
    reinstall brake mastercylinder and lines
    radiator
    e-fans
    battery mount
    windshield

After months of searching for the best oem radiator to use, I found one sitting right under my nose. The radiator from my 93 MR2 is the perfect hight and width.

I pulled it to fab up the mount. I will order an all aluminum off ebay.
Went to the local HomeDepot for some steel stock to fab up the mount. While there, I found some 2" steel channel that is the perfect seat for the radiator. The new mount bolts to the stock location on the rad support.

I drilled the stud mount holes in the channel and the rad sits perfect.

Gonna fab up the top stap tonight. Will be using the pusher style fands that will mount betweeen the rad and grill. They will be red so they will be easily visible though the grill. I think it will look cool.
I I'm getting closer to finishing this swap. I will be driving this thing by the end of the month.
