first off, I do have to say, that I totally appreciate the nod for Admin, but consider this, an Admin is a site administrator and is responsible for the entire site completey, as much as I love the idea, I dont really have that much time. I love spending time here and enjoy reading all the stuff you guys posts, we have some really great people around here and Ive got my ideas for advancement of members, but, Im waiting on them to be considered. Until then, Im stuck, it sucks, but Im standing my ground and doing everything possible to keep all this running as good as I can till I can get more active help from other members . . .

^ we appreciate what you do, and I appreciate the fact jeff built this site and fixed some of the issues but if you are going to run a site like this you better plan on spending a bunch of time on here or appointing someone who can/will so the necessary changes can be made..........

We basically need a restructuring of the sections, an active admin or 2, and mods for each section......

but the last time jeff logged in was over a month ago...

yea man........ i belive jeff has gone beyond being able to give full administrative attention to this site. guy has a busy work schedule, family, and other things im sure. not to mention i don think he has the genuine interest for these trucks since he's a tacoma owner anyways.

he sold the customtacos.com site over to autoforums, and since then there have been some changes....... some favorable, some not so favorable, and some just downright offensive (IMO :D) nah, but in all honesty, alot of people were (and still are) upset over the sellout. changes came about with more advertising pop ups, vendor's had a confusing time of what their new vending membership rates were.... (from what i understood the prices whent higher and a few good vendors decided to opt out of the vendor program) ........just little annoying bullsh!t stuff.... thats my opinion anyways...

like mentioned. we need a well grounded, well knowledgeable administrator that knows the ins and outs of the position given.

i would gladly accept a moderator position if offered. i do have some modertor experience on other sites and know generally what mod's need to do to keep the site clean and usefull for everyone.

im afraid that this site might soon follow sutie to how customtacos was sold and be controlled by corporation instead of a private owner. i hope this does not happen but, i nor no one else here has any say i guess. unless someone who actually valued the site as an enthusiast offered a reasonable amount in wich jeff would consider selling it to, then i guess we're gonna have to sit here and wait to see what happens.

Truthfully, all we need to do is keep a close bond with eachother, that will definitely prevent us from falling apart.

Pretty damn sure i have alot of time... usually i just jump into any thread that interests me. but if we can get a few of us to keep track of what goes on, we can still keep this together

I think we should keep bringing this up in hopes that Jeff might get pissed and just delete the whole site.

I wish our government was like Jeff. That's how it was supposed to be originally, get the ball rolling and get the heck out of our way.
Work within the confines of this "Toyota Nation". We don't need Jeff to hold our hand.
If you want stickers, someone man up and make and sell them(I think it was done), If you want a "Mini of the Month", Hell, vote for someone and ask them to do a writeup.

We have a pretty damn good site here without a lot of hand slapping and bullcrap. I like it.

    Thanks Jeff.

I agree that it is a testament to the quality of the membership here that we rarely need any moderating. To me a lack of more moderators isn't the problem, but the lack of an administrator to make administrative changes is a bummer. I mean the chat room thing is a perfect example. I don't know if the papabears thread hijacking thread regulars even realize quite how much cooler a chatroom would be. It would open up direct communication. On the whole though this forum is great. I'm not trying to be a whiner. I am glad the site isn't sold out. That is a plus!

I would love to see a general section for motors/performance, suspension help, and maintanance. It sucks posting in the year you have because well......some people that own a different gen truk may know the answer to your question.

Are there any other methods of starting a chatroom that may not be on here? It wouldn't be much more difficult to open another window and log on to skype or something, although I realize that skype isn't the answer.

I do like the way its set up, but I think we should try all our options here first. Everybody on here has spent alot of time on this site and I'm not sure if we should give up on it yet.

    meh,

ive given up trying to make this a better place. and im going to continue as is.

checking what posts my browser says is new, even tho i miss half the post's that happen.

im sick of working hard just to keep up with what everybody is up to, its not that i dont like to read i just dont want to check 30 different forums to see if i missed a post that wasnt the most recent post. there are many more forums on the net that i keep up with, i dont have time to devote a couple hrs to checking just one. im lucky if i get a hr to check the 8 or so forums i keep up on.

i think this site should have a stupid simple layout. wait... no im not getting started again...

if the site admin dont give a F why should i ?

create a dedicated chatroom with a good regular admin in it. in the GT5p chatroom, i was a mod and i kicked/ banned any spammers. but it'll be steady enough

Yep, that is a bummer. That is why the first suggestion I made on the http://toyotatrucks.freeforums.org/ was an "All years" section. It is there now. There some topics that fit all years of trucks and there is no sense in only sharing them with only people who have the exact same era of truck as you do. I suppose there should be a formal site suggestion post made about that so that if the admin does get around to making some changes around here he might address that too.

Ok so we now have 3 members at toyotatrucks...... so come on over and join in

I'm not very good at websites but for keeping a simple plain jane but informational and easy to navigate site I think it will work......and I'll actually check on the site and set up mods if people actually use the site....
