    30mpg w/ 35's

    32/36
    2in carb spacer
    offy dual plane intake
doug thorely tri y header +2.25 exhaust n quiet stock type exhaust.
    91 22re grey hi-density coil
    bosch +4's
    NGK (i think) blue wires
    lots of static advance
    4 speed
    4:10's
    32psi in tires

    stock long block w/new gaskets

now this is crusing steady on a flat 140mi round trip that took me less then 5 gallons. im turning about 2.7k @ 60mph barely touching the throttle. with 5.29's id be near 3.5k

around town i get closer to 20, the starts and stops kill the mpg and im not one to drive slow.

Ahhhhh, the only reason I thought 5.29s was because a friend of mine had an 88 on 35ś with a 20/22r and a five speed, thatś about similar mileage to what he got with 5.29ś

if you jet the carb its capable of better, if you dump more fuel than air and your motor doesnt use it whats the point.:waytogo:

for a motor thats near stock and stays there a 32/36 is great. if you plan to do head work, exhaust, ignition, ect...id suggest a 38/38. now this is assuming each is jetted for the motor and not base jetting. for me, i learned this after id already bought a 32/36 new from weber. i have a pace setter header with 1-5/8 primaries and its a 4-1 type. 2-1/2" collector. same size system. 8.5mm wires. autolite plugs. new dist, blaster 2 coil, ect. i took my airpump and a/c off. ported the hell out of a non egr intake i got from a celica. i also cut the choke horns off the carb. the head has bigger exhaust valves and a fresh rebuild. also have a 5 speed and 4.10s. it runs like a champ but 5th starts to lose pulling power over 100. it runs out of gear about 125.

now had i known before i would have probably gotten the larger carb and jetted it right. and jet it to what i need. side drafts would be nice. but if i build for much real power ill probably do a 5/7M swap and just clear up the air path (intake, exhaust, ect) and keep it simple so i dont put too much wear and tear onto the motor.
