lol anything involving stress I don't hit and miss on!

I say start welding small stuff and then go big.

Sorry... LOL. I guess I've been M.I.A. for a while... I've been lurking in the shadows here and there, I've just been super busy. I've been getting a little work done on the trucks though and I'll post some updates soon. [/threadjack]

As for how I learned to fab, well my situation was kinda the opposite of yours, in that I worked in a fab shop and wanted to learn mechanics. I'm a certified welder and a shadetree mechanic. If I were you, I would learn from the forums, seeing as how you don't have the option of going back to school. There is a huge wealth of knowledge you can tap on here to get you going in the right direction. Buy a MIG welder. If you get a decent little 220 mig you be able to do 90%+ of the welding required to do any mods on your truck once you have some skills. If you can't afford to buy a welder, better find a buddy with one willing to let you learn on his. The basic tools for fabrication can be had fairly cheap, considering the value of the mods you can do with them. With a grinder, a sawzall, a chop saw maybe, and a welder you can get a lot done. As you learn you can add in the nice to have stuff like a plasma cutter, torches, bender, etc.:waytogo:
