ya ive been tinkering with it a bit lately. no time to work on it during my last job, and im just about caught up with other things, finally got back to her. i bought a way too much overkill fuel system and decided it was a bad idea. now im cleaning out and reinstalling the stock lines. they were clogged like mad, so im thinking getting em cleaned out ought to fix my fuel delivery issue. if not i will upgrade the lines, but not to 1/2in like i originally planned. so if things go well ill be driving it tomorrow as soon as it drives ill snap some pics with my new fancy camera that focus's on stuff
so heres the story... work stopped in may on the wagon lack of money from the job at the time only got worse as time went on. time went on.... and on... and now im unemployed (read have time), the tires needed air, and the meter maids were reminding me that i hadnt touched it in months. ill be dammed if i take the tires off to put air in em so i got her running. i tried a new theory, maybe the stock lines are clogged from sitting a good portion of its life. 44k on the clock and built in 74, do the math. so i used some vac line plugs to cap off either end of the fuel line and filled it with carb clean. let sit for a day, rinse, repeat. after 4 or 5 treatments i started getting SERIOUS chunks of crap out of the line. so in total it took 5 cans of carb clean and 3 cans of compressed air( no air compressor handy) till the carb clean came out clean. so it turns out i was right about the clogged lines. now with fuel pressure and flow im now dealing with some vac leaks and overheating. going to put on a new header tomorrow or thurs, and see if fixing the exhaust leak in the eng bay has as much of a drastic effect as it did on my celica. so believe it or not updates are coming soon. on the note pad: install DT 4-1 header fix vac leaks route fuel lines in eng bay and install fuel regultator and gauge. cut 2 coils off the front to drop it back down fix the stupid seat belt system some touch up rattle can 5 lug swap detail the $hite out of her here are some pictures of it in the "limp around and look cool" state that its in. POS headman, bad header, bad header.
Ahhhh, finally...more pics. I'm still blown away by how far along that wagon has come from the day you got it. She looks REAL NICE and the SC is just downright wicked!
Super nice ride, if only modern car manufacturers could build em like that! Super updates man, always kewl reading this build thread. . . Great Job!
Man, I'd rock that wagon anyday!! btw- let me know about dem wheels after your done with the 5 lug swap!
Kewl, just thought I'd try... I found a set of 14x6 at the local yard, need 2 of the 14x8's for the rear... Need to make time to go back and pull them tho...
they only come in 14x6 - carroll shelby made, found on the van 14x7 - yota made, typical GTS 15x6 - yota made, end of the mk2 supras eventually, ill have some snow tires on the 14x6, some autox tires on the 14x7, and some road course/hwy tires on the 15's.
Hey man, i have a 1986 yota and i would like to find and put that kind of SC on my engine. Where did you get it and how much. PM please
no need to pm. it is a camden/atkins rotary unit, they are out of puyallup WA USA. there main retailer is LC engineering (read cost's a $hit load). but you can buy the basic parts through camden, the kit is only avail from LC. both companys can be found via google. either way there are much better SC's out there then the camden unit, i got the kit for a song n dance and HAD to put it somewhere. beyond that, the money you'll spend to SC a 2xr would be better spent on a 7mge or 2j. all you get is a cool whine noise, no awe inspiring cosmic power that defeats all.
Motor & Clutch Pedal When you did the motor swap from 18R to 20R did you have to add a fuel pump and lines under the hood or on the frame? When you did the conversion from auto to manual how much did you pay for the pedal assembly? Did you also use the plumbing between the clutch master cylinder and slave off of the same Corona sedan you got the pedal from? What car/truck/wagon did you base your choice of Clutch Master Cylinder and slave - units you eventually used on the wagon? Thanks.
