W58 Tranny - Salvage Yard Find

    You can pull the engine and tranny in one piece with the grill & fenders in place, but you'll have to jack the front end way up, and be sure to remove the radiator! It's kinda awkward, but I found it to be easier, if you don't mind dealing with all the tubing and wires on the engine. On my '50 Dodge I had to pull the full front end off to do a "one piece" removal, but that meant only 4 bolts on each fender and two below the radiator support,so that was a breeze!

    it makes test fitting the tranny easier, having to alignt the eng+tranny and try to fit it is a bitch.


    some of the older cars/trucks the upper core support comes off with bolts making it stupid easy.
