under powered !!!

    1979 Toyota Pickup 1ton
    after changing the oil pan gasket and the valve cover gasket , the engine is very under powered, it takes twice as much to get up to speed. what could it be?:confused:

    did you refill it with oil? really if that's all you did should be no power loss... did you adjust the valves?

    no i just simply replaced the gaskets and oil, it does run much better at idle but when you put it in any gear it is very underpowered

    This same problem happend to me bro I dont know what it was though it suck :brickknock:

    Did you remove or maybe break a vacuum hose ????
    Disconnect something else ??

    try swapping the hoses on dist around maybe you put them on backwards

    love your dually buy the way have a 78 double headlight model they are freakin long had mine parked next to a ford excursion and mine was longer:p

    What's that throttle cable lookin like its not binding or folding on itself is it changing gaskets should have no effect n performance check all the little things removed for the procedure
