I am an idiot and didn't realize that the way I did the studs kept me from swapping out to my new balljoins now... :verdict_in:  Now I'm trying to hunt down some 1/2' Button heads at a decent grade of bolt... Here's some more progress pics...

    All welded in...(thanks Schroder!)

Looks good. What is the point of boxing the uppers? Did you remove material and need to add some strength.

If you look at the factory uppers they hang down really low, and in my case were going to hit my upper bag plate limiting my lift. So by clearancing and plating them, I gain lift and strength taking away by cutting them. Will post installed pics tomorrow. Hopefully also with a vid...:waytogo:

Been really busy on the truck and haven't taken alot of pics lately...Camera went dead awhile back and I still cant find the damn charger...lol On the upside I got a motorola Droid X that takes better pics than my camera did. Been doing alot of little stuff to get the front finished minus the shocks. Heres a few pics of the notches we just finished up tonight...

Probably get 'em welded in soon. Current project is to tackle the transmission mount. I think the route we are going is to modify the original one rather than replace it. Anyone else do it that way? I'd love to see some pics if there are any out there.Droid also records HD video ,so expect one soon:evil:

That looks about like what I'm going to do. Just wase'nt sure on how high up it would have to be because I'm not going to Z mine so it's gonna lay on the front crossmember and rear of the frame. Gonna have alot of big progress pics this weekend as we are going to tackle the rear setup. Look for more updates really soon.

Sectioned out the tranny x-member as well. I'll post pics of that when its done too. Going to get the truck on the ground tomorrow to take a few more measurements for the x-member. Will post up a few more pics then as well. Let me know if im posting too many ... I did alot of searching and never found some pics that would've helped me along the way. I hope my post can be that for someone else... :waytogo: C and C welcome

I am planning on doing the same thing with my truck. I won't be cutting in a z either. I was looking at the transmission mount and it has that button on the bottom. That would be the first part of the tranny c member to touch. It looks like you could gain a bit but only so much without raising the actual transmission. Post pics!

I sectioned mine out like the one above in the pic... I have yet to plate it but i'll snap some pics tomorrow. With the truck laid out on front x-member and rear frame you have an extra 1/2' between the bottom of the frame and the ground (without the Z). Going to plate it up and modify the trans mount on Sat.Going to be alot of pics after Saturday hopefully. Here's 2 I snapped today after we got her on the ground...
