I have loom already , and will be wraping after I take it all apart again.

yeah , just kind of a "nickname" some friends gave me , when I took a year off , and went skiing  .....
I still have lots and lots to do ... just like me , its all looks right now .

thanks ... If all goes well , I should have moulds ... you to could build your own Trekker anyway you want .

Thanks , most of it is just organization and focus .. I set myself a goal , and get it done ... so as to your question ? not much .. I'm a single dad of a 13 year old boy (mom and dad) .. we camp and fish in the summer , and ski in the winter . also , this year i'm coaching his ball team .. go Reds !!! :clapping:
I only spent 3 hours this week on it  ... and none last week .. this is why it's going so slow .

finally got the fan controler mounted and wired .. I decided to go with the Flex-a-lite controler .. it will work from 60% to 100% depending on temp. .. + if necessary , it will run 30 seconds longer after vehicle has been shut off .

also .. got my new shoes
    315/75R16 's .. (35 X 12.50 16)

so continuing working on brackets for mounting "items" got the rear heater mounted

also working on the wiring ...

made brackets and mounted the computer , routed wires , and "tying" the harness for final loom ..

also started on the dash ...
because of the larger 2000 4Runner speedo , the left ball vent would not fit .. so I first cut out the old , and started to tack in the new .. Thanks Paul .. (donated the piece to the project)

so couple of things today ...
started machining a new antenna mast mount .. I know some might call it silly .. I just think it's all in the small details ..

you can see the old ones in the picture .. and neither nor really fit the new 2000 POWER antenna .. and because the fender is "flat" on the top where the antenna sits , the newer power antenna mounts dont fit either , they sit on the side of the fender .. in the picture .. the chrome stock piece is only a 1/2 .. the picture only shows 1 side .. I think it looked dumb , so this is why I'm making one .

so I started this .. still more polishing to do .

also decided to mock up the headlamp doors ...

and continued working on the dash
First I made a template for the original "woodgrain" , out of paper ... layed it onto some steel , and cut it out ... test fit

then I cut a tab or edging and welded

trimed and drilled ... and screw'd into place ....

Now I have a bare template for heater controles and switches , and sterio ... I'm not a smoker , so there will be NO ash trey in this unit !!!

and .. as this day was ending ... I decided to tape off the dash , and lay some tin foil on the dash .. in prep for fiberglassing a new "base plate" for the new dash pad ...

and a first layer of mat

sweet! i was planning making a new dash insert for my 79 using either aluminum or stainless and leaving a tig weld exposed along the seam.

can u kinda do a step by step on the dash? i want to try it on my hilux but not sure how.

so little more to add .....

got the POWER antenna mount done ... and mounted

also .. continuing working on the dash ..

    trimmed the fiber dash base

and "hammered" out a new corner dash piece , and welded ..

and started on the other side

made the Left lower dash plate today .. in the same manner .. hammered out a piece , and welded it together .
Last piece is the center piece . Then I can start to make the "cutouts" for the switches and such .

some people might not understand this .. and I just want to make sure people know my intensions ...

I want this dash to "look" stock .. but have that ..... " hmmmmm seems to be something different here ? " ... same theme for the whole truck ..

I hope this will be the final outcome .

so basically any 79-83 toy can now be a Trekker .. with a little work ...

    thanks ....
