No. I had an '06 F-150 Supercrew 4x4 with 5.4L. We sittin at a light, me left lane him right lane, I was thinking on racing him (knowing he would kill me), when the light turned green i floored it churped the tires (posi, gotta love it) he heard it & got on it also. He started to pull away but the road curves to the right, I slowed down cause a full size truck won't take the turn that fast. he didn't slow down fast enuf, the Z started to drift, he tried to correct it but over corrected, it the curbed median, jumped the car (sparks flying) cleared the 8-10 ft median, landed (more sparks flying) turned to the right, slid into the curb sideways the car went up on to wheels then came back down. On the on-coming traffic side. No one was seriously hurt! The on coming traffic hadn't got there yet so the road was empty.
a friend of mine has a z with an skyline rear suspension that he actual competes in drifting competitions with. he was racing down the freeway against a mustang gt and one of those 6.0 gto's. he went to the little strip next to the slow lane the mustang went to the fast lane and the gto went to the slow lane. when the mustang and gto tried to swerve into the middle lane (3 lane freeway) they almost hit. the gto swerved and spun out, went head on into a cement overpass support, and the car was blown into pieces. good reason to only race on a track!
I bet he's getting a Geo Metro now, three cylinders aren't that fast. Not to mention, I think he learned his lesson. Probably'll install a roll cage in it too.
i rode in my friends z and it was pretty quick, but i think my sisters turbo beetle could walk all over it.
Thats why I stick with non-performance cars. My thing is, if you're gonna have a car like that learn how to really drive it.
or save it for a track... im in n out guys but i read a lil bit but yea ill stick to cruising, its safer and less chance of crashing
The Baja Beetle my girlfriend has is D*** fast. 2180 engine, f***en loud, and a new, low-geared tranny for outright acceleration. Things a f***en beast! Don't have any pix, but it's bright yellow with red step bars, spokeless rims, full roll cage, circular driving lamps, and a Super Beetle front clip with fiberglass everything. Used to have an oversized roof scoop with a #3 Nascar sticker (Dale Sr.) that had a tranny cooler that was never connected.
My grandpa scares me with his Stealth. He's stalled often and had a few near-misses and fingers. I'd love to have it though.
my sisters was an 03 and she kept a little flower in the dash. it was awesome, i was borrowing it one day and this tuner pulled up behind me in the turning lane. he had his girl with him and everything. the arrow went green and i started going and went to the slow lane. he came whipping up as fast as he could. right as he went by i nailed it down and left him in the dust! must have been embarrassing to be beat by a guy in a beetle with a flower in the dash
