haha i think im gonna put on a tow ball so i can do it, idk if i wanna drop the frame n scrape that lol
this thread is hard to keep track of. it takes four pages of reading just to catch up with what the current conversation is.
haha thats because u missed out on a lot lol hey u kno anyone who wants some rearview mirros... anybody else? i got two lying around that are gonna hit the trash can next monday if noone hits me up for them. u guys can HAVE them. i took them out of the lamps because i put in my own rearview mirror... then i got the 4runner lamp to brighten things up a lil bit
im debatin between a chop top and a body drop... idk i want my ride to sit on the floor, but if i bag it, wnt it be able to? and if it does i want to chop the top... if i have to body drop it, i dnt want to chop it and take away all head room lol
if you do just bags the frame will touch (assuming you had it z'd), to get the body to touch you need a bodydrop. my 86 is doored and chopped and still have headroom. all depends on how you do the body drop. oh and chops are big $$$$$
yea i figured cuz of the glass and stuff huh? but how much off the ground will the body be if the frame is on the ground? and wut is a "z'ed frame"?
the body will be roughly 2" of the ground. chops are labor intensive, i seen a shop in cali that starts at like $6500. i'm not a fan of 2 links. i prefer 3link if your keeping a stock tank, or reverse 4link. forward 4link if getting a fuel cell/ relocating original tank.
Please, don't do that! If I just had mine bagged, would I need to mess with (relocate) the fuel tank? I would like to lay frame, no body drop. Also, would it be possible without cutting inner fenders?
lol i dnt wanna doa tow ball but i dnt wanna tear up the frame... but i have the same question about the tank... and whats "z-ing the frame"?
you can keep the fuel tank in the stock location if you run a 3 link or reverse 4link. i recommend the three link that seth (twistedminis) sells. if you like them 13" daytons you won't need to cut your wheel wells.... yeah you will probably need to cut them. my 86 had to be cut and that was with small rubber.
on toyotas the front suspension x member is lower then the frame itself. when you put on the airbags that will hit first and the frame will be 1-1.5" off the ground by the back off the front wheel wells. to get the frame to lay out you have to cut (z) the frame near the firewall and let the frame go down, then weld and plate it.
I figured as much. And no, I don't like 13" Daytons. It would look old school, tho. I want to run 18's. I don't even want to mess with the bed floor, other than what has to get cut for the rear suspension. I want to do a bed box for the audio system.
Yah, it will only have two 10's so the box won't be that big. That way I can go wider then deeper with the box. The box should only be bout 1 1/2 ft deep at most. I'm gonna have the box installed before I bag it. That way I know how the box will sit.
