just looked at the pic in your thread

it should be mounted with screws at the top & bottom by the glove box. and clip to the lower dash piece below the steering wheel by the e-brake.

 

the screw at the bottom of the glovebox messes it all up, it really bends the plastic

you know where the top of your dash splits to take off the front part. on ours the part of the dash in front of the passenger stays. on the 4runner's that part comes off too. and where the stereo shroud curves around to the glovebox, the 4runner's dash has less of a curve. I bought a stereo shroud from a 4runner to replace my hacked up one, now I have a gap right there where it curves into the glovebox

 

i think thats a problem mine has also, ill take a pic tmw... if thats wut it is, ima be pissed since it was out of a pickup

i gotta go back and look at mine now, i think mine has that problem also... so ill be better off getting a diff surround? or dash?

 

if it does what mine does, it could be just the wrong piece.
