I have had 16s a few times. Like a 225/50/16 rear and 205/50 or 215/50 fronts. Had a few others that weren't as optimal. I have 17x7.5s now with 225/45/17 and 205/40/17s. No rubs. Thin spacers up front. Here's a picture. I'm gonna keep the 14s and find new fronts to have a full set again. Anybody have experience with tuner lugs that are colored? Don't care about shape, a standard chrome acorn fits fine. Just want purple lugs lol. Or that rainbow/purple/green/gold look would be sweet too.
Here's another picture. They have caddy center caps an GM stamped on the side. Late model ctx or something?
only thing is finding quality lugs. my friend had those cheap "security" acorn lug nuts from autozone and those tore up his threads. Those wheels look good, I'm surprised they fit, I thought caddies had a completely different bolt pattern. If I were to get 16's, I wanna get 16x10's... If I were to do 16x8's, I'd get 245/45/16's. I think that'd be a good overall size with balance of meat and height. 16x10's, I'd probably try to get 255's or 265's if they even exist lol btw do you like how the steering's tightness changes when you go from taller tires/ sidewalls to something with smaller sidewalls or height? hahaha
Oh yeah. And I gave it an alignment yesterday. The fronts are slightly shorter. Rears a bit taller. 215/60/14 (24.15") vs 225/45/17 (24.97") rear and 195/65/14 (23.98") vs 205/40/17 (23.45") fronts. Very slight rake change. Gears mellowed a little which I like. Wanna swap my stock cut coils in and see if the extra drop they have clears these tires. 1" more or so.
Today I made a new shifter boot from a Crown Royal bag. Just cut a hole and stuff it between the rubber boot and its metal floor ring. Tied the top off. Simple but matches the color scheme.
Last night between rain storms I got out and scrubbed the floor boards. The truck had been leaking and all the crud on the floor underneath the floor mat had rotted.
played around with the dash a bit. need to stop being lazy and drag it over to my boys house so we can make a few plates.
not bad, I'd turn my crown royal bag into a shift boot but not right now. No proper center console or buckets to make it look right.
Pretty much what I plan to do! I got Domo neck cushions, I'm thinking about doing a crown royal purple roofliner with gold Bride pattern on it. I turn 21 next year, I can only fear how many Crown bags I may have.
that, my friend, is going in my sig. got started last night on some templates for the cf delete plates for my vents.
I dig the crown idea! I myself have a collection and will be going home to make a shift boot and visor covers. As for today I installed a WORKING gauge cluster and speedo cable.. feels so good to see things working again. Oh and installed factory buckets out of an 87 reg cab into my 88 reg cab. With matching interior colors! What luck!
