Today I was observing the rear diff under the truck and a black widow that has been living under there almost came down on my face.
almost done with moulding in custom lower rockers on one side of my stout...hopefully have most of body work done in a week or so to get this sucker painted.. drop parts coming too...air!
Finally got this sucker in today!!! I pulled the engine to re-thread some exhaust mani bolts and put a Hedman Heder on. Also, i finally got my fenders and hood from the dude who was sanding/priming them for me. Took him 3 months to get em back to me... fml. As for the motor, i couldnt line it up with the trans in so out she came for an external mating. But it went smooth after that. Tmrw, hooking up all hoses and electrical and hopefully getting her fired up.
very neat, i like to see a pic of a xxR(x) motor with the transmission outside of the truck. something i don't really see
Took the bed off for some frame cleaning and so i can change my fuel pump and filter. This weekend is going to be the utlimate teardown on the truck. Over haul style. Engine is coming out for a rebuild and major cleaning.
Drove it to work for the first time since last september. It was loud, abnoxious, smelled like fuel and exhaust, couldnt hear my radio, heater wouldnt work but Hell it looked Damnd good doing it.
Hooked up most of the wiring and vac lines... spent 40 mins looking for where the alt. bracket bolted in... had to look at a pic online, then spent 15 min looking for the right bolt for it, lol tmrw rad, belts n hoses and battery for test fire!!! yes, i know, coolant...
^^ toyota red coolant!!! carquest I haven't driven my truck from Friday til Tuesday and damn did I miss driving her
Ok. Ill bite on the red. If only for the food colorant. But the big difference in coolant alchemy seems to be a certain 2BHE acid used in gmz dexcool being a rust inhibitor but plastic eater. Inany case. Toyota seems to be fond of the red stuff as of late. So I'm game. Thanks for the insight!
Today my girlfriend helped me sand the inside of my chevy bed. As you can tell she is excited and probobly can't wait to help on the Yota She is also a little bit camera shy
Will be going up to Tap Recycling to get a door relay to complete the wiring up of the doors( mine went bad ,broken ground wire caused problem). Also have to reshoot small area on bed where found a crack @ filled body seam!!! Almost all back together!
other coolants tear apart the japanese metals and protectants. Toyota red coolant is a great investment in my eyes. as for gf's working on trucks, mine would hate sanding the bed... lol
Got EVERYTHING hooked up and tight. Gonna try'n fire her up once the battery is charged in about an hour or so!!! X'd Fingaz... i just hope it goes smooth, and i dont find out that the fun has just begun... oh and someone should shoot the ass that engineered the fan clutch assembly, those four lil nuts are a friggin PITA!!!
Took the camper off for summer madness and put in wheel tubs there just temporary until I sheetmetal the bed an body drop it
new trans mount w/stainless hardware... she started pissing engine oil out when i let her run for 5 mins. Hoping it was just a couple of boltless holes on the block. I put in a couple bolts but cant check for sure till i replace the oil she spat at me
She even runs to the scrap yard with me when I need to go. She asks stupid questions but at least she is willing to learn!
