Getting with a friend today and finally trimming my rear bump stops. And if I can convince him to help me, might getting the truck an inch or so closer to Mother Earth soon. :D

Bump stops are cut, about an inch left. Rides ALOT better! :clapping: And the spare tire is finally off. We didn't drop it more but still might do it sometime down the road.

Bought a used alternator today for $40, hopefully will have it in in the next few days. I can't do it at my apartment but my bro-in-law has a shop.

Thats why I hate the parts houses in town. Best one I have dealt with is the car quest main plant downtown by the clocktower apartments. The manager there is actually an old ASE master tech from mazda so he actually knows his shiz. Try them, otherwise yah you gotta order one from outta town. Offer still stands we can swap it at my house I got tools galore!!

I got that one from Barger in Garden City. O'reilly has 'em in stock but they're $150 after core charge. Not worried about installing cause my bro-in-law owes me.

You should upgrade your alt dave if your paying that price for a stock one. Mechman, Ohio Generators and a couple other good companies out there.

The $40 is for a used one from a junk yard. I just need something 'til I can get a bigger one.

My truck was making the rattles today. I think the "rake" from the smaller front tires and larger rears, including my large oil filter made it "take" less oil.

    Or something like that.
Took off the valve cover, adjusted lash accordingly (everything seemed fine?) and the guides were intact (steel backed, been abusing it since 149k?).
I spray painted my valve cover cherry red with minimal prep (was "polishing" it, gave up, sprayed down with throttle cleaner, then adhesive promoter, then spray)
It looks alright. nothing fancy. sanded off the paint on the "TOYOTA" part. I'll take a pic of it later. It looks neat :)

Yeah, been driving on it. seems to do well.

    I caused myself an issue.
pinion angle is "up" because the 8" diff is apparently "longer" by like mm's or something. i don't really mind, it's not causing any mechanical issues the way it is. I also had to hammer the gastank pinches a bit to clear the driveshafe joint. nothing major. everything plugged and play.

to install brakes lines, I disconnected the T-joint for the brake lines. that way I threaded on the truck's brake line. place on axle, connect T-joint again. Makes it MUCH easier.

e-brakes weren't tough. My friend managed to pop off the clips when I was texting MightyMouse. I was also busy at the time, so i didn't really call MightyMouse back (sorry man!)

I haven't gotten a pic of it yet. been quite busy with stuff. Will do that soon.

plans for tonight would be to do an OC with 10w-30 pennzoil platinum (maybe ultra). Already got my PureOne filter ready to go in. OCI for tonight would be 4000 miles since the 5W-30 currently in the motor has been in the motor toooooo long and its getting black. It's been in the truck since the end of fall (ish) at 180,000. And to include the past 3,9xx miles have been quite... extreme lol.
