oh **** oh shi- ah! ****

:brickknock: god damn im beyond pissed right now i think i might snap and take a big ****ing hammer to the truck right now.

while taking off the head bolts in the proper sequence i discovered the #3 bolt is cross threaded or galled to hell. i got it loose but it was a bitch let me tell ya. now that its loose it still wont come out, it keeps spinning i tried to grip it with pliers to pull it out to no avail.

i think im gonna cry now.

    who wants a 89 22r parts truck?

that sux bro, where are you located...there are some cheap engines on craigslist you can pickup and just transfer the new parts you were gonna install on this motor onto that one.

well they guys at yotatech had similar problems, these head bolts run through oil passages aparently and can sometimes get sludge built up on them. so 5 out of the 8 had quite a bit of buildup on them. which sucks but its better than the threads being damaged. turns out im going to have to take the head off anyway and clean those threads on the block out so, i can get an accurate torque reading when i reinstall the head bolts. ah! what a headache. :eyecrazy:

.... discovered why that replacement rear view mirror on Ebay was only $15 + shipping... it's junk. It vibrates so much I can't tell if it's 2 headlights behind me or 50

The original one is going back on tomorrow.... :brickknock:

The arm doesn't vibrate, it's the mirror itself. I tightened the thing all the way up and now it's WORSE. I thought it was just loose. BAH! Plus it has no Day/Night and I drive home from work at 2am. Kinda blows.

    Lesson Learned. :verdict_in:

took it for a quick little romp on my test drive track since its slow at work today and somehow my lil 22r messed up my w58. im now getting weird bearing/gear noises from the caseing... crap

its 350-550 for my trans guy to rebuild it since im not great at rebuilding manual transmissions quickly.
