attempted to do a BJ Flip on my 93 ext cab in the dark. didnt work out well. have to finish in the morning. the ball joint plate didnt come out easy for me at all hopefully I can get the other side out a lot more easily. I have a feeling it was since I didnt jack the arm up to help keep everything even as I was unbolting it.
Finally got around to installing my HIDs.. I had to take the grill off again to take the housings back out to put in the bulb.. I didn't exactly do a nice wiring job, but it works and i can go back later to make it nice. These euro style beams are weird how they go up on the right.. supposedly to light up pedestrians and things.. Ill probably piss off a few of you for doing HIDs in reflector housings, just let me say mine seem to look better and are 100 times better focused then the typical teenagers "JDM" civic.. Now for the pictures! Heres my cluster f*ck of wiring.. I used a inline 15A fuse, 4 prong relay, and some wire and assortment of connectors. Heres a semi-blurry pic of the cutoff produced at 25' ish. I shouldnt have rested my hands on my steering wheel.. Ill get a better pic when I have a chance! And finally heres an overall lighting pic and cutoff at about 100'.. I love how they turned out! theres just something about HIDs and how they light up signs and the road lines.. Now I just need to get another kit with 3500K bulbs for the fog lights, point them down like the low beams and make things green
I put on some mustang v6 rims because I plan to drive so cal in few weeks and don't want to drive on my stretched 17s Also raised the front a little as I has some rub
Bought a Nardi Torino steering wheel from my friend that apparently came off a Subaru WRX GC8 front clip his business ships in from Japan. How many splines does our steering have and what hubs do you guys use? I'm also trying to get some Brides.
Plasti-dipped my front & back bumpers in dark gray and installed clear front marker lights. Edit - snapped a picture of the front before it got too dark.
I haven't done anything to mine in weeks, except fix a freeze plug and drive it. I did get brand new front tires a couple weeks ago to match the new rears last month. In gonna have to find something to do to it lol.
Not a Toyota & not mine! Soon to be my youngest sons, 1998 S-10 Extra Cab,coming from his Grandpa. I drove her down to San Jose,120 round trip, to get this shell, will be painting to match this week! He will be flying up from San Diego in a few weeks to drive her back!
Today I bought some goodies! Bought some gaskets and brought home some alignment pins from work to keep moving forward on my motor build. And I bought new front brakes. New calipers and pads Now I just need to get off my butt and go do something...
Finished restoring the paint. Used some Meguiars medium cut followed by a pass with some swirl remover & a top coat of Mother's Ultimate synthetic wax. Used a 7" polisher I picked up from Northern Tool on Wed. on sale for $80. Better than Harbor Freight & looks like it's made by Porter Cable. FREE SHIPPING — Klutch 7in. fired her up for the first time in two months due to being out of town. probably going to drive her around town in the morning.
Mounted my fog lights since the 'blacked out' E-Bay special headlights weren't what I was expecting, but look great. I was expecting tinted glass, not blacked out reflector housings. I have to drive to work with the high beams on & even then it's pretty dim. I'll wire the fog lights up tomorrow after I get back from Pick-n-pull.
Yup, those ebay lights aren't going to do much. "Diamond Cut" doesn't mean crap. I had a red single cab with those ebay lights drive behind me on the highway today. Blinded the crap out of me. Then he passed me. Did a quick comparison of the light output between my truck and his... yeah, he couldn't see anything. I was afraid a medium cut would be too deep. I like Ultimate Compound. Wash, Clay, Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish, Wax. I'm looking at AMMO NYC's detailing products, definitely a quality company that's growing. I was leading an EVO X and STI that were chasing me in the mountains. They didn't expect to roll up behind a Toyota Pickup, until I was pulling ahead... I love my 275's.
I finished putting the brakes back together on the driver's side rear axle, including replacing the brake line over the axle and bleeding the system. They feel better, not being saturated with gear oil from a leaky seal. I replaced the two reverse lights, one of which was burned out and the other of which had no lens, and a tail light with bad wires. These are all 6.5" ovals. I removed the two 2" running lights that weren't working. They aren't required. I'd like them back, but I'll have to do some wiring first. I also cut away the remains of the outside face of my driver's side rocker panel. I'll clean out some rust, give it the fluid film, and wood it up. Then I should be ready to pass inspection.
Not today but the other day I dynoed it again but this time on mustange dyno not bad for high milage and bolt ons and some basic tunig
