i have had this truck forever. 7 years ago i bagged the front and painted it and then the motor **** out on me and its been sitting ever since then. so i finally started on it about a month ago i got the c notch in and just getting all the parts for the rest of the 4 link so i can weld it in. i picked up a ford 302 yesterday to put in it after i clean it up and paint it and put a little cam in so it sounds good. let me know what yall think about it

Cool project! Glad to see you decided to go with a Ford instead of a bowtie like everyone else that swaps to a V8! :waytogo:

i've heard the same of the aod trans. i have a c4 in my 66 mustang, and with a shift kit those little trannies are pretty solid.

I'm gessing that since most of are trucks have little to no wiring going to the engine if you have a 22r then I guess its not that hard to put a V8 in it thats has a carb. I was thinking about putting a 1jz in but after I lost my job and access to a lift an power tools I havebeen thinking about a V8 maybe a 302.

1jz would be nice but a 302 is cheaper there are only just alittle wiring to it if you are doing a carb its not bad at all. i fig out that it is easyer if u take off the cab

Yea a 302 is way cheaper to swap than a 2J and is going to be real cool. Def get a c4 and you're set. looks like a sick project man.
