    And another thing...

Got my GT40 Heads back from the machine shop yesterday. Milled .030, cleaned, extract 1 intake bolt, and a set of badazz valve seals for 96 cash.

Those Im gunna port and polish. Never worked with cast iron though. Im kinda curious because the hybrids head was easy as butter with a carbide bit.

Then lap my valves, set in the Trickflow springs and have my longblock done. :runaway:

    Pics tomorrow!

Sounds like it's going to be a beast man. I almost went v8 with my truck but I need to keep a decent gas milage truck around the house lol

Its been two days you damn bum. Where are the pics?! You cheap bastard. You go do all this headwork just to end up lapping the valves? Do a 5 angle valve job.

So today, drove the Yota to the shop after work to fix some water leaks...

Bought a new water pump, intake gasket, T stat and gasket for 33 bucks! =WIN!

The rusty bastard that came with the Celi. Tisk tisk Tony.. Some coolant couldnt have hurt... Just jokin.

The inside of the timing cover after I cleaned the surfaces.

I also removed the T stat, and the intake manifold. I resealed that bottom plate with some grey goop and it holds. The water bypass in the middle of the head is leaking bad! The surface has some pitting, and is spewing water like no other. So I need one or make a plate...:brickknock::brickknock:

Heres the second best factory heads for a SBF. Next only to the BOSS! Which are technically cleveland heads...Not shown real well are a set of 1970 DCOE 351 windsor heads (cost me 35 bucks, they are good heads too, but dated.) And my Edelbrock Performer RPM Air gap intake.(cool $120 bucks, cheap)

A pre-picture to show what an intake port looks like stock. Lame!

By comparison, a new pic of the hybrids intake #3 port. 20R head FTW! (im posting all those type of pics to help out anyone who wants to do something like that, and have a pic or two to guide them. It does help,ALOT)

And a random pic of some random crap I had in my toolbox. $100 set of brand Newish Ford Motorsport roller rockers for the v8, and a free working "mini" style starter off of a 98ish v6 mustang. Fits the 302. All going to be used on the yota.

For anyone who is interested... I already put a cam in the 302. Motorsports X-303. From Ford. Got it from a guy for $100. Hydralic roller.

    286* Duration, .542 Lift. 107 and 117 LSA.

Its gunna thump like its angry, trust me

Yea Ive noticed too. Your 2rz. A couple of 1uz's. A straight six here and there.

Thanks bud. Im shooting for a solid 275-300 at the flywheel. So thru a T5, and my 4.10 G code, somewhere around 250 at the wheels. With an easy 300+ lb ft of torque. Not a dyno queen, but definatly enough.

Then theres the 125 shot plate system...

My Boss, who is a mustang and Lightning expert. Estimates that if it hooks, its goin 12's...:runaway:

I don't doubt that at all. Almost everything I owned before my 80 were fords so I got a pretty good bit of time with some 302's and stuff. Mostly big blocks, but I helped build a ranger with a built fuel injected 302 that ran 11's. Gotta love big motors in little trucks lol

    Hit the Junkyards today;

I had to go for buisness also, but I picked up myself a few things...

A 79 Celica 20R was sitting there ripe for the picking. Had power steering to boot.

Soo I grabbed the coolant bypass plate/hose that have been despratly needing for the past weeks. So the truck can go back together. It was pissing coolant bad and I had to drive my dads chevy. :puke:

    Some engine lift hooks (factory)
    Celica power steering grearbox
    PS resevour
    PS pump assembly
And a 20R valve cover for a friend.

Ill mess with the celica later, Because I think I need to grab the steering shaft also. The box is like 1 1/2 inches longer.

My new Ford Racing roller lifters should be in monday. Woot!

    Cool find! :waytogo:

Did you pull the head for spare? I was looking at the hood and thinking man this would be the perfect donor if only it fit the 77...

Yea, extra crispy. Cracked in the chambers.

That hood was clean, but its for the ugliest celica ever.

We (mostly Ricky) started to pull the brake/hub hardware off of a 84 Cressida and I wanted to see if it would bolt onto the celica spindle.

Rotors a tad bigger, but more importantly vented. I gotta buy all new brakes anyway.... why not.

Yea bro, Raff's got my 77 now... I'll get another later when I know my job is stable again. :waytogo:

On a side note, I'm pretty sure I can still hop in and take it for a spin when it's done... Thanks in advance Raff!

BYE, you gunna jump on the 18RG bandwagon?

    hope not...

I got my trucks 20R intake off, again, cleaned up the surfaces and got ready to put in my water bypass. I wasnt payin attention and broke the new 20R intake gasket. GRRR...:brickknock::brickknock:

So I tracked down another gasket and called it a day.
