Me and Ricky (22R) spotted it on a 944 porsche (sp?). I have a flamethrower coil on mine. They are simple to wire, and shoot a spark 5 inches.

That yellow one is leaking oil... :doah: Maybe he'll find another one...

    Finally! Progress!

I got myself a comp cams 280 grind from BYE tonight. Also a Dougy Thorley tr-y, and a few other things....

The cam was just installed about an hour ago. As simple as a cam swap can go for a R-series.

Old cam with wussy factory lift (and duration)

New cam bolted in to go, adjusted to 7-11 (which is too loose :brickknock:) and huggin the old aluminum rockers.

A header thats in the works...gasket will be in tomorrow.

    On the test drive home,

It idles a little choppy :D, all previous low rpm torque is still there, but the magic happens around 3500 and it wont quit! The gasping for air feeling is gone at 5K. Now it feels like it could rev too the moon. Pulls twice/three times harder around 4-6K.

I woulda done the exhaust too, I got the clamps and adapters to put it in tonight, but no one has exhaust mani gaskets at 9pm.

Hey Ton, for some reason, it took a little while of driving it to get it really running good. I wouldnt think they would have a problem in SOHC configuration. Maybe it just needed to wear a pattern???

    Just tickling my mind...

    It works great, thanks again.

    Another...

Runs like a scalded ape. The exhaust note gets very ricey sounding at 4K+ now for some reason. O well Ill live with it.

Obliterates 1st gear from a roll. About 20 minutes of driving the snot out of it, it went BANG, then scrape scrape scrape. Turns out I splode'ed the driveshaft (carrier bearing)

    Workin The crud outa it!!!

Sooo, this weekend started out (in my mind) to strip, fill and paint my driver door. About halfway into it a deal came up...

So notice the metal upper half of the door, bare. On my way to get the trailer, my P.S. pressure hose exploded. that explains the leak...(I also noticed a almost wore thru spot on my radiator hose. Perfect.

My trucks a workhorse! Didnt even complain during the tow.

somebodys old project, :cough cough: A 77 Celica GT coupe. Its all there, but needs some good ole hard work.

    My goofball ass.

A lightened flywheel, 280 cam and too big of an exhaust does not equal torque beast. :verdict_in: But she made it.

    Tailgator!!

Now I just finished painting most/all the bare metal on the cab with primer before the week keeps me busy. Didnt get to put any filler down. Darn

    So what'ya think?

You looking for smiley bumpers for the celica? I have a set, they need to be banged around...but hell, you can't ever find them these days.

And your underhood looks a lot like mine does. I have a 4-1 header and the same booster in my 78. Just put a 20/22R together and in last week. I like your truck. Get some sound clips up. I have been looking at the same cam for mine.

    naa jk tony... cool guy...

hey we put the celica on jack stands and then a EPIC FAIL happens...
lololol the car twists and it falls off the jacks.. hahahah lolz...
the jacks were on bare dirt... then oly finds a couple of drums lying around and we put those and used some 2x6's as bases for the jacks...

    and no more fails... lol

Byker, 22r's got a vid of me at the track (lined up against B.Y.E.) No thanks on the smiley's. I dont think Ill jump on that bandwagon.

I think it has decent sound on it. Crappy air, spinning the tires, typical excuses.

Fastest run on friday was 11.17  hot humid weather blows....another nail in the coffin twards the engine swap im planning.
