no, there is only the stainless ring that holds the headlight in, and the stainless "bulging square" looking thing. i was pretty happy that they came out so i could paint behind them.
This has come a long way since I've been on this thread again, way to go Bernie! I know you've got a lot of plans for it, but do you planning on putting disc brakes on the front?
yeah i do, i'm just not sure from what yet. the v-8 is pretty close in weight to the 18r. i have all drum on my 66 mustang, the problem i always have is, while they funtion exactly as they were designed, they just aren't as effective as the new car brake systems. i can't count how many times i almost ate a bumper when someone in front of me braked hard.
ahahaha! put buick drums on it! my riviera has the big big 45 finned aluminum drums, and ill smoke all 4 tires before i use all my brake power!
my mustang would lock them up as well in a panic stop. that was part of the problem as well. there were a few times sliding the car sideways saved me from eating a bumper.
awesome job. i cant wait to tear into my 73. i'll post some pics as soon as i can dig it out of my storage unit. also note that the frame rails are closer together under the hood than the later yotas so you might need some custom headers for that 1UZ
thanks! i was actually thinking about them damn narrow frame rails yesterday, and decided i'm going to build a full custom frame. it will help with the bag setup, body drop, and holding the 1uz all at the same time.
I bet it did. I wish my factory center caps didn't have rust on them. I look the look or the old school factory wheels.
i ran into this problem when i was working on dropping my buick 231 in mine. i decided to stay with a four cylinder because of it
since i shaved my fender last week i decided to put it on and see how it will look. just needs to be bodydropped and it should look good...
they are stock 79-80 sr5 centercaps. i've only seen 2 sets, the one's i have and the one on seth's old toy (frank)
i've decided i'm going to graft the rear bumper/taillight assemblies from a 75ish cadillac deville onto my hilux. i'm going to check the junkyard tomorrow for the pieces. i'm shooting for this look..
