no, my brother is coming over tomorrow to help me pull the bed and fenders. i have a side project i have to finish so i can use the garage.
i pulled the fenders tonight, and broke all 8 bolts that hold the bed on. pics will be up tomorrow.... my camera battery was dead, but i have it charging right now.
i was expecting them to break. i brought my 1/2" ir impact home to break them, but my ratchet did it rather easy. they actually had bolts in them. every bed i have taken off used nutserts. the last registration in the truck was new mexico circa 1991, but at least it kept the milage down
Mine came off easy to. I have only taken the 81's bed off, so i thought they were all bolted on Im going to run her bedless for a while so i can work on the dents and not care if i get done enough to drive it every day
mine had a bolt with a nut, usually the bolt would screw into a nutsert place in the support rail. i love driving a bedless truck!
here are some pics before i pulled the bed see how the tank is with the bed gunna have some work here total waste of space!
Yeah, it may have kept the mileage down, but shouldn't letting it sit that long make the engnie needing an overhaul or swap?
usually when an engine sets the seals and gaskets dry out, but mechanically it shouldn't hurt anything.
Man thats going to be a fun project you lucky... haha I can't wait to see what you do with this thing.
mine is a daily, does not stop me! Yank your bed and drive the crap out of it....lol I'm working on my dented up mess of a bed. Its sitting on a table in my shop. Nd i have my tails zip tied to the frame although there really big ass zip ties...haha
