Hey Bernie what made you decide to go 79 and change the original hood lines?

    thanks!

umm, well i want to make the front of the truck come to a point in the center, rather then being a flat face like the stock trucks are. when i made a vector of what i wanted i didn't really care for the way the stock hood looked with the point. also i hate cowl hoods and hoods with holes for motor clearance. since i needed a 1.5" raise i had to do something that would look stockish. lol

here is the vector i did with the stock hood

here is the one i modified to fit the 79 hood. when i seen it i knew i wanted it lol

obviously since then i've dropped having a bumper all together in exchange for the valance i made lol

if it all goes as planned i'm hoping to drive the truck within the next couple months. if all goes well between now and sept., i'll be driving it to west coast nationals.

thanks, i have no idea if it would fit your truck, or even a stock 73 hilux. everything is rebuilt on mine lol. they come in a variety of widths, all are 19" tall.

    thanks dave

    this is what i got

Wilwood Reverse Swing Mount Dual Master Cylinder Pedal

but i think you would need this

Wilwood Reverse Swing Triple Master Cylinder Pedal

well i was all excited having new parts. so around 10pm i went outside and started on making the wilwood pedal fit. worked out really well. i modified the stock brake pedal assembly to fit the wilwood setup. had to make some little brackets but nothing too bad. the m/c's fit nicely between the cowl and the back of the gauges.

the pedal clears the steering column by about 3/8" throughout the travel. i still have to make a mount for the stock brake light switch.

yeah, 3/8x035. figure i'll do it once then not worry about blown lines lol

thanks, no real deadline. but i (and my wife lol) want to drive it to west coast nats in september. so i need to get it running and put some miles on it before i take it 500+ miles roundtrip.

    thanks man

thanks. i wish speedway sold all the air ride stuff like bushings and tabs etc. i love ordering a ton of stuff, and having it 2 days later without missing stuff. seems like all the airride supply places take 2 days just to acknowledge that you paid them and want your parts :brickknock:

    Hey Bernie
did you start this build as a Show truck? Or did you start it as a daily driver mini and then decided to change it to show truck?

Your comment about the fan, and the little it will be driven kind of spered this question?

Keep up the great Work Dude It's awsome
