thanks guys so i won't be taking the truck to Bring The Noize tomorrow. my neighbor had some stuff come up and wasn't able to finish the bodywork. but i'll take quality over speed, so she can sit this show out, no big deal. the drivers fender and door are done. figured i'd take a pic since i don't have any front pics of suspension with core support removed. and the d. fender and door i'm trying to find some good door hinges, as well as a good used passenger door and fender. the fender is rusty on the inside pretty bad, and the door had literally 3/4" of bondo from previous damage. i straightened it as well as i could, but would feel more comfortable starting with a good door.
this truck is so amazing, i must admit though im surprised you are not doing the bodywork yourself after all the hard work you have in it
Rad as Bernie, dont see many lexus conversions over in the sates. This is one truck I'm looking forward to seeing on the streets
lol, thanks. i know my limits.. i want the truck to be perfectly straight so i never planned to body and paint it myself lol thanks seth thanks james, i can't wait to be able to drive it
your definitely gonna get some magazine spreads when this is done! looks awesome, hurry up and finish it!
anybody know how to read japanese?? i'm curious as to what the caption means lol thanks for posting it up james
The caption next to your truck says that it is a hilux with a 1uz engine. Its hard to read because the caption describes it directly form the english language. My mother in law only speaks japanese so the words arent familiar to her cause they are not coomonly used. I will try to find the info or magazine thru my mother in laws connections in japan.
thanks. today i added the little wiper mount brackets from the 79 to the 73. also finished cutting out the stock cowl, and used to 79 wiper linkage. it hooked right up to the 73 wiper motor.
just read through this entire thread, lovin the truck man! ill definitly be checkin out the rest of the build.
dang thats a lot of reading lol. thanks thanks dave, i'm sending the wiring off in about a week, and ordering a radiator, mufflers, fuel pump. fuel, brake, and air hardlines as well. she should be running within the next two months then once it's running i'll tear it down to get the frame painted or powder coated. then reassemble and start thinking about paint and interior
