here is the flaming river, 71-72 pinto rack narrowed 5". **this is as close to perfect a rack for 84-95 toyota geometry!!**







fabbed up a bracket and bolted it in. since the 1uz pan is crazy wide it's a tight fit. also planning to notch the sump



i also moved my upper mounts in 1/2", and narrowed my mock up lower 1/2". it makes for less camber, and cycles over 12"

 

Dang now thats pretty looking. Its coming along pretty fast. Keep it up man

today i removed the back cab wall and replaced it with 16 ga. steel. also flipped the truck around so i'm not baking in the sun while getting the suspension and steering buttoned up.

i got my dom yesterday (friday). today i bent up the upper material, hoping to have them fabbed up by tomorrow.

also going to order heims and tubing for the adjuster between the heims and rack n pinion tonight.

i keep creeping closer and closer to having $1000 tied up in the front suspension alone

it'll be a while till it's drivable. this recent work is to get it to west coast nats on sept. 23 as a rolling chassis.

 

here are the finalized arms , just need to add bag plates to the lowers and weld em up

for the arms i made the mock up arms with the balljoint cups level with the arms. when i cycled the mock ups, the upper was binding about 2" from full tuck, so i knew i needed to angle them to get full tuck. the lowers were maxing out at about an inch before i wanted during drop, so i angled those to compensate as well. the lowers were bent to give me 2" of additional clearance for the bag, since the straight bar was pretty tight to the k member. and the uppers i just put a bend in to help with clearing the upper bag bracket, but since i essentially made drop control arms the bag sits under the frame rail, and misses the upper by about 3" at full drop.

and as of today it's a rolling chassis again. arms and bags are in. but nothing looks more dumb then a body dropped truck up in the air... lol so here is a down pic
