i have no idea where to ask this question so ill ask it here, normally a vw guy, i recently got a 1981 corona LE 5door hatch got 22r engine, im wondering if anybody knows which transmisions from the hilux would fit because i have a four speed manual but i have no idea wat year it is, the engine its bolted to looks to be a 18r but i dont know where do i look for part# it doesent say much.
I'm honestly not sure. From what I've read all "R" series motors share the same bellhousing pattern. And it seems that instead of using a tag most people identify the transmissions by the metal it's made of, and the shape of the case. I'd start a new thread with pics of what you have that way it will be seen by more people.
burnie..i know u heard this once and twice and a million times but damn u do some serious good work bro. nice job u got any updates?
yep. hoping to fit two 10" fans diagonally. one lower driverside and one upper passenger. that will help me clear the water pump pulley.
the tax man decided to be nice this year.... so i'm going to be ordering a set of these in 20x8.5 along with a set of 225/30/20's within a week or so!!
Drool... Thats the next set of wheels i'm buying for my cougar. I've been eyeing them for a while now. Thats going to look too awesome on there man.
Thanks guys! I do have a 30" brake, shear, roller combo machine. It is rated for 20 gauge, but I did use it to bend the sides of the core which are 14" wide 16gauge. The center I bent at my old highschool, they have a badass 48" brake. The teacher is actually the guy that got me onto welding as a career for his company when I was 17. So I get unlimited use of all the cool equipment
your hella lucky. im debating right now if i want to buy wheels or tools like a shear, bead roller, and a 18" brake....i just dont know yet.
mounted the inners and tacked them up. the firewall side bolts into a hole that was originally for the hood hinge assembly. i'm making it where the core and inners will be removable so if i ever need to pull the engine. i still have to pick up some 1x1/8" flat stock to make the strips the fender will bolt to.
Amazing work, I need to build fenders for mine but they will never be close to the skill level you have.!!!!!
