I put variable rate load bearing shocks with coilovers to replace my stock shocks for a stiffer feel up front. If you check out my truck's build thread "Betsy" I have some pictures and part info. I also went with Sway-a-way torsion bars.

Do you plan on lowering at all in the future?

Oh cool... Yeah but only like an inch or 2. I have 2 motorcycles id like to haul around so i would like it a tad lower and stiffer.

I'm a furniture maker and used to carry around bedloads of old growth redwood, and this suspension setup was what I arrived at after trying a few options.

If you're only gonna rock a 2" drop, it gets complicated with my setup because the coilovers counteract lowering a bit, so for a 3" drop setup, I have more like 2" drop.
I surfed the entire catalogue of Monroe for the right shocks with the right length and right mounts and bushing. Most manufacturers will have huge spec sheets for their shocks which you can browse and compare to find a good setup.
You can also add a leaf out back with a simple kit for the rearend.
