84 22r w/carb won’t consistently get the fuel it needs to be able to drive.

I can start it by pouring some gas into the carb, and it will idle nicely, but when I go to drive, and return to idle, it shuts off. Am able to restart sometimes but than same problem. Again, easy to start and idle by adding fuel into the carb.

Has a new fuel filter. I tried spraying it down once with carb cleaner on both inside and out.

Just need to know what y’all recommend.

    Thanks for your help!

Is the pump actually working? Its a electric pump correct? Disconnect and blow out the fuel hardlines, replace the rubber lines. Drop the tank and see if theres crap in there that may be blocking the pickup tube.

Unhook the fuel line at the carburetor. Stick the end into a clear plastic soda bottle. Crank the engine over and see if you’re getting fuel.

I agree with jetas, it’s something in the fuel delivery system.
