I did one door bodywork an all in about 2 hours or so. First time ever doin it. If you have a welder and some scrap sheet metal or an extra door. Try it on that first. If not just turn your settings down so it won't blow through the door or warp it. An take your time
Ya that's about it. Just tack til it's completely welded grind smooth fill in anymore thatyou missed an body work it. It was my first time doin a door an didn't take all that long at all I got the filler plates from AVS an welded them in. What took the longest was bodywork
Just take your time with the welder and space your welds out and go back and add spots until its all welded...warpage is a bitch.
Yes sir... Bodywork is the bitch. When i post up pix tomorrow i will show how the door pulls in even when you space out your tacks and cool the welds. As far as filler plates go... Its waaaaay cheaper to make them yourself than to buy them and have to modify them anyway. Same goes with notches. I was gonna buy a set and they wanted $100. Thats crazy when you can get the material for about $25-$30. Makes me wish I took pics when I did mine.
check around for local custom shops. most shops charge around $50 a handle just to shave it. body work is extra.
Sorry... Didnt get around to snapping those pix today... Had some bills to go take care of on my lunchbreak so that plan got cancelled... If your really serious id be more than willing to help. Message me and we'll get the ball rolling. I already have some filler plates lined up so i can cut out a few more if need be. Lemme know...
