Thanks I'm subscribing here too:D. I got them off a 1 ton at the yard. I got a caliper and just put it to work. I'm going to paint them and slap them on. I seen them on the stake beds and dualies. Mobile homes and street sweepers. If that helps. And sd yota has a whole write up with details and pictures. More help and info.

Yeah I've read both his write ups for the bars but I'm out here on the east coast so I'm having troubles finding anything that's ACTUALLY a 1 ton and the guys at all the junk yards aren't very much help!

Wait he has 2? I'm going to have to look it up. I'd suggest buying a caliper if you don't already have one. When I went to the yard there was a few trucks that did not have 1ton decals or anything like that. And when I tried looking at the bushings but they were beat up. So I borrowed one and measured them to be sure. Harbor fright has one for about 10 bucks. So does Home Depot.

Also I know it's hard to find these because it took me awhile. I don't go to yards all the time but u do periodically. If I find one I'll let you know.

Another option is sd yota. He has a thread where he takes parts requests.

Plan on any special color scheme for your wheels?....To go with the purple lugs/valve stems?

    Fully polished/purple accents, polished lip/purple center,etc?

Cant wait to see the build progress!

Sorry don't have a picture of the wheels finished at the moment but I'll get one posted here soon. But I polished the lips and painted the center a silver metallic pretty similar to the original color of the wheels. Even rust treated, re-primed and cleared the backs. They look fantastic!! :headbang: Here's a few pics of them in process.

They were off a 95 Mercury Grand Marquis. I liked this center star pattern more than the Vic pattern.

I will post some this weekend. I had to touch them up a bit cause when I went to have the tires put on the tech used the wrong mounting machine and took small chuncks out of each corner of the center star, of ALL 4 wheels!! I HAD A F***IN MELTDOWN!! :brickknock: I'm sure most of you can imagine my pain!!

O yeah I feel your pain. All of my wheels on my truck now are 7 spoke powder coated black chrome. The last tire shop I went to they put gouges in two of my wheels that I had tires fixed on. I made them repaint them and when they brought them back the clear coat had ruff dry patches and over spray and they wouldn't fix them. So they are still the same. Haven't had time to fix them.:brickknock:

Yeah, I've had a few wheels screwed up by lazy/incompetent tire techs... :(

It's too bad Costco will only mount factory sized tires. They do a great job! I've purchased about 7 sets of tires from them (for a few different cars) and have NEVER had any issue with their service.
