Maybe I should do that on my rims, it probably will hide all that cat-piss I've been finding on mine! I might need to kill that cat, it's been doing that every night for the last week...
The plans for the truck are as follows: 1.) Front End Work 87-88 4WD Chrome Grill Hella H4 Conversion Lamps with some 12K bulbs 2.) Interior 4Runner Buckets + Center ConsoleDouble Din Touch Screen Head unit + speakersCarpet KitSR5 Cluster 3.) Engine Weber CarbLC Engineering HeadersMSD Ignition 4.) Exterior Shaved Door handles and AntennaNew Paint
Sounds good. I'm wanting to do the 4Runner / SR5 interior stuff myself, but it's not going too well for me. Oh well, this is about your truck, not mine, so I can't wait to see yours finished (again).
Small Update Okay, been gone for a while dealing with some legal issues with my truck. Not a whole lot to report on but I got the Chrome 4WD Grill on from a 87 4Runner. I want to get a new Chrome Bumper as mine is all bent and scratched up. I don't like the Rubber bumper ends that I currently have. Does anyone know if there is a one piece chrome bumper that fits my truck? Also test fitting some mirrors from a 89-95. I love how a lot of parts are swapable between 4Runners and Pickups and between years. Makes working on our trucks so much easier. I also wanted to get the Toyota Logo that goes in the top driver side corner of the grille. Can't seem to find any on ebay. If anyone has one please let me know. Thanks!
'87 -'88 2WD bumpers are one piece, can probably find that and the emblems at junkyards. If I find another one when I'm looking, I'll hit you up on this thread.
Cool thanks for looking out Sand. I also purchased clear corner lights and clear marker lights. I want to do the whole front end in 4WD Chrome Fashion with Clear lights.
Although the 4x4's all had three-piece standard, each year, could do a swap of the next gen bumper and valance, there's a thread about it somewhere on here.
You gonna scratch off that black crap from the OE chrome windshield surround? I'm in the process of doing that, taking forever though. I may just bite the bullet and replace the surround with another one, I think only rubber ones are available in the aftermarket though. What color did you say you're going to paint it?
Yeah, I'm going to peel away the rubber thing, it's chrome like under so that's cool. I'm going to primer it flat black for now, I'm thinking of a color scheme, I may photoshop some different looks. I want something that will stand out and be totally different.
My dad did that with his first of four Chargers. I wish he had pix, but it looked b****en is what he claims... and he used both chrome and black on his. (then again, bumpers for those cars are only in chrome)
Here's an idea, keep the chrome front end and (if you don't have one) get a chrome rear bumper (unless you don't want one), do the Hemi Orange paint and do 'Cuda stripes with 22R where HEMI would go. That'd be B****en! I'd do Charger R/T stripes on mine (we got a '69 Charger R/T 440 in the garage), but I already have plans.
Ordered 3 inch blocks for the rear. Waiting on getting those bad boys in the mail as well as my lights. Gonna paint it flat black until I can decide on a color.
Cool! Crank down the torsion bars too. I have to do that on my 4x4 because the ride's horribly rough, my bench doesn't make it any easier, too.
I need to recharge the ac in my truck as it just blows hot air in my face if I turn it on. I've just been rolling with my wing windows open. They rock.
I gotta get those. My solid windows suck, and I can't mount my new speakers in until I find some. I've been doing the 2-80 air conditioning as well, and I'm saving up to convert the engine driven AC to R134a
Have a shop check for leaks when you get it done. I didn't, that's why mine's dead again. I had it recharged two years ago.
Yup, I'm the second owner of the 84 so everything is pretty much factory. I got my clear corners and side markers put in today, they have the amber lights so at night they look regular. I don't suspect any trouble from the police. I'll take pictures in the day time.
