i used the buttons that came with the kit, there is a low spot on the door where i drilled for the two switches(so they were recessed), i then had to cut an opening on the back of the door panel so i could push the switches from the front of the door panel, when the panel is on you can't tell....but i knew where they were....

they are out now..kept shorting fuses, but this was after several years, rather than re-wire and replace the switches i just took em out...i'll take some pics of where i drilled sometime this week and post it up..a visual is always better!!:waytogo:

i like the hidden button idea. when i bought my 86 yota they had the buttons down under the dash by the firewall. just had to tap it with your foot to open it

    couple more

i'm going to use the red on the tach part so it doesnt look as faded and i'm thinking of doing blue in between the numbers, but leaving the numbers white, and then going with either blue or white needles

    any color suggestions from anyone?

alright the LED stuff is on hold, now my thread is going to jump to me replacing my 22re with another, and i'm going to paint some stuff, possibly do the big 3 upgrade and i'm debating other goodies (header:D)..

I was going to do a 2RZ swap, but i need my wheels NOW! so time is not permitted, so here is the first pic of many to come...i'm picking up an engine hoist and stand later today for $150 which i thought is a great deal, comes with engine leveler too! so the engine will be out tomorrow! i'm gonna throw up what i'm spending too, just to see what it all comes out to.

I would love to bag it, just something simple but 4 link for sure in the back, but don't have the funds now..its dropped w/3 inch blocks right now, front is still stock...but i'm hoping to get some spindles and do a ball joint flip..i need new ball joints anyways

So i found a place locally that was selling 22re long blocks for $600 OTD..They were local but an hour away from me. I called ahead of time to make sure they had one and they told me one left..ok i said i'm on my way..so i get there and they sold it! FCKIN pist me off...well they just ended up rebuilding mine and I got it back last friday..

In the meantime i painted my engine bay black
    [IMG]

So this is what you get for $600, pretty right!?..I did some research on them before i committed and some local offroaders were happy with them, actually couldn't find anything bad about em, so i gave em a chance

...First thing i noticed is that it's missing the dipstick tube! then I noticed the two studs for the oil pan were missing too! Oh then its missing a stud on the head for the exhaust manifold! Missing some bolts that I had left on the block..ahhh i was getting pissed! and its not like they are just down the road!

So then i start to build the rest back up and notice its got a PLASTIC timing chain guide! wow..so no biggie my metal one is still good, went to swap it out and what do you know, the timing chain isn't even aligned right!

So i fix it the way its supposed to be
    [IMG]

I'm just praying the rest of the engine is actually done right!

And here is where i'm at now, with a little help from my son!
