think they will total it? i was hit once on the corner under the taillight about the size of a softball and they charged me like $550 to repair just that. blue book is probably under 2k, im no body estimator but i think it'll be pushing that total threshold where the insurance will see it cheaper to total than repair

Don't let that get to ya. I'm waiting very impatiently, to see your truck done (if they ever are), as I'm sure other are too. I let one show get to me last year and decided not to show the rest of the year, but I ended up entering another show and walked away with the Best Stereo trophy. So you never know what's gonna happen next.

thanks for the encouraging words, yeah i remember when you were bummed about that contest

so anyhow, went to the bodyshop today, as soon as the estimator came out and saw my truck he said they were gonna have a real hard time matching the paint, since its custom mixed also said that it could possibly be totaled cuz the truck is not worth much...they might turn me away but he's gonna let me know for sure tomorrow..well see

I would just hate to see all your hard go to waste. And you seemed excited to start working on her again.

    Any update on insurance?

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think if they total it, you get a check and an offer to buy it back as is for less than said check.

What exactly does that mean where you live? Is it detrimental to registration?

Either way, I would be asking all the questions.

It makes it more of a PITA to register, you have to get it inspected to make sure its road worthy, plus lowers the re-sale value..

it actually came out waay cheaper than i thought $924.48 they are giving me a appearance allowance for the tailgate, they don't want to repair the entire tailgate cuz only the bottom got scratched so they are giving me $75 for that, not sure if that means i get $75 cash or what..trying to get the details from the insurance now

Finally got my truck into a body shop that will do the work...long story short the first body shop refused to do the job saying they had to mold this and fabricate that and couldnt match the custom paint..whatever..found someone who would, so just dropped my baby off today, should have it back by end of the week..I got a HHR for a rental and i gotta admit i feel less of a man driving it lol
