Sorry to hear about the crash. I got hit too about a month ago & I was a couple seconds away from knocking the guy out in the middle of the street!! Sucks to have put so much work into it and see your truck like that. But its good to see you bringing it back to life!! Hope all goes well!

    parts

Picked up some more parts yesterday. Got a new radiator support so I pretty much have everything I need to start putting the 87 back together. I am first going to primmer and rattle can the new fenders, hood ,rad. support etc.Just for added protection till I get a paint job.[IMG][IMG]I also picked up a bunch of stuff for my 92 but I'll post those pics over on that thread.

    progress

It finally stopped raining so I got a chance after work yesterday to make some progress on the truck. I finished painting up the grill bumper and other fender.I plan on lining up the fenders, bolting on the bumper and grill today. Then once thats done the new bed goes on.[IMG][IMG]:clapping:

Thanks bro.[IMG]when i first got the truck about a year and a half ago the first thing I did was under coat everything with a heavy duty industrial brush on paint and it is still holding strong. Just prepping for the new bed.

Even no it was a bad situation .. still kinda fun putting new parts on and getting to wrench on something and unwrapping piles of new parts .kinda like Xmas for grown ups .or am I the only one

I painted the inside of my bed with a similar oil based exterior brush on finish its lasted so long and I can touch up or renew at anytime for way less than a spray liner cost I'd recommend it to any body wanting to shine there bed or frame up for cheap

Fuk yeah when I sleep I'm having dreams about working on the truck. I talk in my sleep asking my wife to pass me the size 14 wrench.

    Progress

Got the fenders locked down and the bumper put on. Still waiting for a Valance.None on Island right now. I ordered a set of LED headlights and some tail and corner lights off ebay. Gotta get them first before I install the grill.Hopefully the bed goes on today.[IMG][IMG]

What did you use to paint the core support and front end? Progress looks great.

It came with a coat of that black on it like the hood. I did not paint the hood. But as for the fender rad. support and bumper I primmered it with Duplicolor dark grey and finished it with a gloss black also Duplicolor. The gloss went on nice at first but when the can got about half way when it dried in between coats I got a weird ghost sheen in some places. I plan on a real mpaint job in the next couple months so just temp that one.

I found one of the cross beams that support the bed is resting on the fuel line sten on the top of the tank. not sure whats up there didnt really have time to check it out. Maybe one of you guy know if theres a difference. My trucks an 87 and this beds from an 85.migh have to notch the beam.[IMG]

I was thinking to paint three stripes down my doors to make my truck look like an ol school Adidas shell top shoe. Not.

I think after 86 they did make a change to the beds till the 89 model. Just do what you said and notch it. Looks like the body lines match up good and gaps look good as well.
