I went to a salvage yard today and found out I had it wrong. This is my first time dealing with the rear of any Toyota truck so I thought it would have a rubber isolation pad like my 91 does. After looking at several earlier years it was pretty obvious. This rear end doesn't use any rubber isolation pads. It sit's directly on top of the spring and the shock plate is sucked up to the spring by the U bolt to keep pressure on it. I already had what I needed except for the U bolts, which I purchased. I got back late and cleaned the hardware up then bolted it down in the dark, then the rain came and I called it quits. I still have to switch the brake hardware, install the driveline, and change the gear oil before a test drive. Then there's the LSVP, it's another thing I don't have a clue about. My buddy pulled on it hard enough that he ripped the rubber boot/cover in half and parts went flying. That dude drinks too many energy drinks!
