Holy **** ya don't see OZ audio these days. Back in high school my bucket 79 mustang had a set of 5 1/4" mids with tweeters and 10" subs all powered by a pair of phoenix gold amps. Ahhh those were the days.

My wife still has an ancient yellow top that works great. I've ran the stereo till the amps start clipping from low voltage then shut the stereo off for 5 minutes and the battery will recover enough to start the truck. :D

I ran through 3 red top and a blue top in short order. They would just stop holding a charge after awhile. Other than my wifes OLD battery being good you couldn't give me an optima these days. Search optimajim on pirate4x4.com. He's a rep from optima, there are a bunch of threads that he's come into insisting that todays optimas are better than the old ones all while hundreds of posters are relaying their experiences stating otherwise.

ive got 2 redtops from last year and one from about 4 years ago and theyve been good to me. parked my old beaten to death Nissan Hardbody outside all day last winter in -50c, new cars werent starting so i was ready to call a cab or something to get home but the thing started in that crazy cold and i made it home, if it werent for the Optima i doubt it would have started. that battery still lives in my Silverado

i think the battery was rated to 850CCA and i tested it at work for fun and it was putting out over 1300CCA, but ive heard from some people that the newer ones arent as good as the old ones so who knows
