+1 haha i like that idea. Truck is looking sick and I like the interior. You should check out my interior for some ideas
that was the name i gave the truck when i first got it home b/c i had an 86 hi-lux i named project lower case. i have since renamed the truck "toxic toy" a.k.a. the "kronik kruizer"
i dig your interior and might even borrow the idea behind your door panels since i've not decided yet what i wanna do with those. i had thought about painting my dash but i'm gonna try to wrap the top in leather first and paint the rest. luckily my mom has all the equipment and know how and is gonna do the job for me. i just need to bring everything over since i loaded it all up in my other truck several days ago now. also waiting to find a carpet kit at a better price. i also took the sun visor panel out of the lincoln which will give me more interior lighting and visor mirrors w/ lights. i've got a few mods to do to that and i also have to drill the stock visor holes in the cab about 1/9" all the way around to make it fit. but it'll be a nice add on when its done. i'm using that for the front half of the new headliner and i'm gonna have to make another seperate piece for the back half to cover up the mounting points on the visor panel.
Did you check out the carpet I did? I bought some black indoor and outdoor carpet from Home Depot for $30 and you could not tell it is not a carpet kit. I had to trim the carpet and tuck it but it was very easy. You can check it out here: http://www.toyotaminis.com/forum/build-up-project-threads-25/finally-my-build-8365/index2.html
nice... i might just do that. thanks for the tip man. on another note the body is coming off week after next and the frame is gonna get the john deer yellow treament, the front shock relocation is still kind of an issue (now that i have the parts they do not look as though they will fit), the bed is coming off for the first stages of its transplant, new A.C.T. throwout bearing and A.C.T. piolot bearing should be here the day i leave for burbank (going to get a freinds new vette he won on ebay, visiting the girlfriend in the bay, stopping at the homies for either a quick nap or a few days of work depending on how fast the vette is needed -with 19 cars in his name i guessing not-back in portland) new shift knob has been purchased and matches the truck too well for a store bought knob (pics as soon as i get back-promise) autozone $20 got my mom a shift knob too for mothers day for her new mustang. the front end has been pulled apart already (again pics when i get back)
i know i promised pics when i got back from mothers day at momz but plans changed when a homie (or so i thought at the time anyway-long complicaated story full of b.s. and drama i'm sure no one is interested in) asked if i'd drive down 5 hours to watch his house and dogs for a few days while he went out of town (of course he decided to call me the day before he wanted me down therem but i dropped everything to lend a hand and pics never got posted. so later 2nite i will post more pics along with a progress report. and have i mentioned how much i hate buying shocks? thats a whole other story.
for some reason its not giving me a button to upload pics.... so i'll post my link from facebook. My 91 Toyota | Facebook hope that works for you guys. if not i hope to get them posted here soon or you can always freind me on facebook (i know its lame but it is the only way i've had of keeping in touch with freinds from the east coast(high school) and family (we are not exactly a very close bunch))
so finally i'm starting to work in the right direction for getting the toxic toy rolling on public pavement again. 2mrw i'm resetting the 4 link so that the diff is where it needs to be and not 3/4" off at every angle. also finishing the top shock mounts to clear the new shocks, welding on the new bottom shock moutns, and cutting more diameter out of the crossmember at the rear of the cab to completely clear the driveshaft at all ride heights. then move on to the front shock mounts, overhaul/paint the motor, paint the frame, wire the cab, and i'll be almost finished and cruisin (hoping for august 20 -- summer slam).
it is a COMPLETE overhaul.... and that makes 2 of us plus the guy who's shop its in thats helping me with it.
for those not on facebook.... it was an early day at the shop since my mom decided to show up, so i got not lazy enough to put these up.
