I have some more pics to show. Things are looking good. I hope I can get it driving soon. Getting the 98 Taco rad support to fit It is taller
I had to bend over the edge on the bottom of the radiator support as well as cut some of the top of the frame off.
Pic of the bed getting tubbed. I need to seam seal: And another look at my clutch setup: So I still need to bag the front. I am thinking it won't take that long. Just need my upper brackets to arrive. And then finish tubbing. Build some rocker panels (btw I started on the driver's side). Seam seal. Bondo. Primer. Put the interior back together. And get it started (put in alternator radiator fluid).
I will try to get some pics at some point of my rockers. The plan is using eighth inch sheet steel that I have to make something quite strong. And I am cutting the bottom of my doors off because of rust. And doing that will make my rockers look clean. I mean there won't be any part of the door to add to the shape of the rocker. Kinda hard to explain but I will definetly take pics. And if a bod drop is in the future then the rockers will be strong enough to handle it.
How it is going With 1 inch cut off the bottom of the door and eight inch material for the rockers: Underneath the rocker panel: And rear tubs as high as I can make them:
Looks good bro. Man you improved so much with your welds and work since the very beggining. Keep it up. Whats next?
I think I am going to have to use the 98 taco rearend I have just sitting here. Because the rear airbags are really close to the wheel. May need spacers too. And my taco will be able to get a narrow rearend from this truck. That is just one thing I have to do on the list. More pics: Messy interior I also need to tub the passenger side and do that rocker panel. And I need tires. And I need to make front bumper brackets. And I need to line up the front end fenders and rad support. And get it to start by hooking back up all the wiring.
pIC Things haven't been happening as quick as I would like. But I figured I would take a picture today anyway. I have put in my 98 Taco rearend. It's wider so my wheels won't touch the airbags. I still have to bag the front sometime. But I got my lower arm bushings out.
Front bags But just the other day I finished welding the front upper bag mounts. Today I just bolted up the arms and spindles. Still need to drill holes for the lower bag mounting bolts (through the lower arms). I am excited to air it up and push it around lol
plans for the car: drift car It is my first car ever. I've only ever owned a bunch of Toyota trucks. I like drifting and it is easier to drift a Supra then a pickup. I want to get coilovers and rims for it. And increase the steering angle. I am quite happy with the amount of power it has. Already a large step up from my 4 cylinder truck!
Nice man sounds good. So does this mean the truck is going to be put on hold now? Also where did you you get your tubes from? How much?
