Well that little can is about 60 bucks so it better work wonders! I have some pics today: The machine shop completed my caliper adapters: So now I have to mess around with the adapters and find some strong bolts that fit. I thought the ones I had would work but nope. Oh well just another thing I have to buy. I also have to buy some welding cable to run my alternator wire to the battery and for ground wires. And that cable is about 5 dollars a foot and I need 50 feet
what size cable are you looking for? 1/0 50' 50 Foot of 1/0 Welding & Battery Cable Made In USA - eBay (item 270498941484 end time Apr-03-11 13:28:47 PDT) this is cheaper, but says "refurbished" not sure what he means.. 1/0 Welding Cable 50FT-MADE IN USA - eBay (item 110668711455 end time Apr-07-11 06:06:31 PDT)
I want to get 24 feet of 0 gauge and 24 of 2 gauge. Then I'll measure the exact lengths and cut it. Then I will get someone to crimp some eye hole terminals on the ends. The 0 guage is the bigger one and it will run from my alternator to my battery in the bed. And I might use a chunk of the thicker gauge to ground my block and ground my battery. And I still need a fuse for the alternator power cable. I think it has to be a fuse of the same max output of the alternator. I have an lcengineering high output alternator. And then the 2 gauge is going to run off the battery to a distribution box in the engine bay. That will be where I run power wires from the distibution box to the starter, fuse box and maybe stereo and stuff. I might want another distibuition unit in the bed so I can hook up my air system. I was thinking of making a trip to town when I have the money so I can buy the cable new and take it to the electical place where they can do a nice job of crimping it all for me. It just kinda sucks that money is getting tight like right at the end of my build.
april fools day bit of progress on the shock mount I may just use my tacoma tail lights. 3 of the mounting holes line up. I would just have to cut out a bit and weld a filler piece in. The plugs on the harness fit nice too:
pics I put my pedal back in. Hopefully for the last time since it is kinda akward to mess around under the dash. How do I fill the clutch reservoir you ask? Just pull off the cowl
I had to drill out my caliper and spindle holes to mount my brakes. It was a very slight amount that I had to take out just so that I could fit some proper bolts in. I sanded my rotors. I finished my shock mounts just need to weld the part on the lower arm. I got some welding cable to run from my alternator to my battery and to use to ground my battery. Here are some pics>
I added some bolts to my bumper and cut some out of that metal piece for the signal lights. And I cut my notch cover to fit in.
My "to do" list -POR 15 front of frame -Make bumper mounts -Install and hang exhaust -Hook up all air system components -Complete fan and ducting under glovebox -Mount computer in glovebox -Rocker guard roll pan -Bondo and rocker guard the rocker panels -Spot weld front of radiator support -Complete radiator mounts -Run wiring harnesses to gas tank and rear -Run wiring harnesses through firewall -Run battery cables and grounds -Spray black primer -Seam seal -Mount steering reservoir -Put interior back in I'm trying to think of more but can't
well, she's starting to come together...i like the grill and front bumper combo...can't wait to see it mounted in the final location.
neither can I! lol that is why I did the mock up and took a picture. Today I put my exhaust back on. I worked on the front end and applied some bondo on the rockers. Lol shaggy rockers: Smoothed
I'm not too impresssed with the body. But my brakes look damn good. They are not fully assembled but dammm
