Nah I'll be ok I'm from the vdub world hence my intrest in steelies, I've owned two vw's with stetched tires for years as well as many others who are currently in the scene. it'll be just fine as long as I keep them properly inflated, besides it's not going to be used as a major work horse.
If your're looking for some Chysler 300 17x7 steelies like the Red ring ones on the incomplete truck pictured in this thead and you don't feel like seaching for used ones (even though cheaper), here you go.... http://www.hubcaphaven.com/300_wheels.htm This is going to be like the official/authentic steelie thread.
Hey check out what I found, these are Toyota Tundra wheels 18x8, 5x150 w/30mm offset. And if you have about 3,200 bills you can do the ultimate steelie, coming from the UK are custom 20x7.5 by image wheels. You can get these up to the wopping size of 22' for a bit more. Oh and check these out..I believe theres are by stockton wheels (22 series) made to order. You just call and tell them your size. They look sweet. Note: Double click on above pictures to make bigger for a better looksy.
Hi everyone, Here is my price quote from Diamond Racing Wheels. "We can build you a lightweight 16x8 wheel in our Avenger Series for $141.00 each in either silver or black powder coat. We can offer you a 16x10 wheel for $154.00 each. We do not build a lightweight wheel in any size larger than 16"
i like the "steelie" from the u.k. but it's not really a steelie. it's a 3 piece billit wheel, and that explains the outrageous cost. i should sell a car or two and order a set for my hilux...
Yeah at that price I figured something had to be going on besides size choices. Hey Toyo Trucker: Thanks for the information, very helpful indeed. It makes for a good comparison to the option of having some steelies widened. I found some 17' chrysler 300 steelies locally for $50, so depending on how much it'll coast to have them done will determind which direction I'll go.
The lincoln town car/ grand marquis/ ford things fit from the early 90's. They have a nice offset and look pretty simple. And you can fit baby moons on them. I'm going to put the set I had on my town car on my truck, ill post pics when I do
Guess What!!!!!!! Getting me some custom steelies............ 17x9 ET +0 powdercoated black I'll post more pics when I get them.
