hey so i'm get 15x8's with 215/65/15 tires, one last thing before i order them tonight, should i go eith 4" or 4.5" backspacing? i tried contacting the retailer and searching online for the offset of the black rock type D rims but no luck.

 

215/65/15 is a pretty beefy tire (as far as low profile type is concerned)

i just mounted some 195/65/15 on my 15x8 wheels and i think they are HUGE!

i may be going down a few sizes to 185/60/15 for my look and fitting tolerances.

for you, its all gonna depend. if you decide that 215/65 is the tire you want for sure, then 4 1/2 would be a safe bet to go with. if you think you may go 205 maybe even 195 or smaller, then 4" will get you flush fith the fender lines.

if you wait till tomorrow. im going to be taking some test fitment shots of what i have on my truck and may provide a better visual reference for you.

15x8 with 4 backspacing -13 offset
15x8 with 4.5 backspacing +0 offset
15x8 with 4.75 backspacing +6 offset
this site Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com is pretty good, it compares oem tires to new ones and lets you know how it fits. i'm assuming stock oem steelies 14x5 offset is 3.75?
