Finally got around to taking more pics of my truck. Heres some deadener i put on. Pretty unforgiving if you put it on wrong though. Its Fatmatt. 2 layers almost everywhere. I would have put more but i ran out. Thinking of finishing the rest of the truck with something different.

Picked up a new grill today for $60

I ran into a problem installing the grill. The bottom doesnt line up with the holes, and the bottom lip doesnt clear the bumper

The top also doesnt line up.

I got it almost in, but the weird thing is the drivers side slides right in, but the passanger side is where im having the trouble. I also notice that the bottom lips are different. the old one is curved more then the new one (angled more like this "/" as opposed to this "L"). Im thinking my bumper might be crooked, thats why. Even with the old grill it gives me some trouble, but i just force it in. Dont want to do that with the new one.

Anyone got any info, suggeestions, tips, advice, etc?

Its sucks, but sometimes those aftermarket parts dont fit like the oem/factory
parts do. Do you know if the front of your truck has ever had any damage cause that too can cause the grills not to fit correctly. Im thinking its the grill itself...Ive run in that situation before too! Truck is looking good.

Your bumper is more than likely causing your problems, if there is not enough clearance then the grill will not go in.

Finally fixed my dash so on to the next project. Started building my amp rack today.

Piece of wood i started with
    [IMG]

Drilled some holes to ease with cutting
    [IMG]

    Test fit
    [IMG]

    What im covering.

    Final product
    [IMG]

The "extra" on the top will be cut off and i will use that to make a stand up piece that it will mount too, kinda triangulated. That piece will also be screwed into the body so it cant be ripped out. Going to work on that tomorrow. Two amps will be mounted, my mids amp and my sub amp.
Will also make a battery tray underneath to hold my batterys and make it easier when i do my wiring.

Looking for ideas as to what kind of finish i should put on the amp rack? Was thinking carpet, but if i go that route id put fans just to keep the amps cool. Any other suggestions?

Let me know what you guys think. Still a long work in progress. Ive got a chrome 2wd bumper ready to go on but waiting for my valance to come in so i can mount it all one time.
Also gonna go look for some 4runner interior parts thanks to the other thread.
