What’s up boys and gals !? It’s been a while man, life has had me so got that I haven’t had time to play in a while.
So yesterday and went to the shop, fired up the mini got her all warmed up and decided to take it out for a spin. It was a snow day which was beautiful. took one of my favorite cruise routes by the lake. The truck sat for b6 months prior to this and while driving during this vid, I started picking up some issues.

it appears that my good ole $250.00 w58 transmission is finally starting to go out. Still goes, but it needs some work.

one of the issues which could be any sleeve cylinder, is that the transmission is starting to bind between shifts. Shifter feels loose with lots of play:/.

But The most annoying one that it pops out of 5th if I do a hard pull (and I don’t support the shifter), it will pop out of gear. Thats why most of the vid I had my hand on the shifter.
but we ain’t mad tho, like I said the transmission is 7 yrs this year. And I got it off FBMP for $200 without a bell housing:). There’s also some annoying new scratches I discover and I think it happened when I left the truck parking outside for a few days while I did my garage floor smh.
The overhaul build is over due for this truck, but will kick off before the summer. I need to put this damn supercharger on the thing ya know???

I still have my truck, she is just in storage, and of course still with the 3.4 with the supercharger.

    Hi,
Amazing build and have enjoyed all the info you have shared in the forum. One question and maybe I missed the info, did you fab your own engine mounts or are there some available to buy somewhere?

Is this generally the best sump configuration to get them into mini! Avoiding the cross members and the sway bar?

I’m honestly not sure. I just made what I had work and it started with the engine. I know I removed the cross member bolts, cut the ears off and installed the engine. After the mounts were welded and the engine was in the truck, I made a new solid one piece cross bar and welded it below the original point. Works perfect, the oil pan sits right above it and it takes all the beating and protects the oil pan from bumps since I’m low.

That would be the best option, since any other configuration would require relocating/deleting the sway bar. Good idea to say the least

Not complicated at all. For the away bar, I ended up running spacers on the frame/ mount. You just need to clear the bell housing. I Ran that for about a year or so when I was ran off the highway a few yrs ago.
To fix that damage, I had to replace the frame. That meant new engine mounts since the original one I made ended up twisting from the accident due to the shift in the frame.

And I ended up mounting the engine a little higher in the bay the second time around, didn’t need he spacers anymore. The old setup got trashed with the frame anyways.

I’m running a W58 which is fine. Lots of ppl say they don’t handle power but this trans been solid. It was already beat up when I got it in 2016, and I just started having issues with it.

I was tryna look through your thread but couldn't find it, how did you get past the imobilizer? Or did you have to factor that into your dash?

Not tryna put out security details just wondering how some have gone around or through this problem.

I think it's something like the master key and the ignition switch still wired up. But I think the stuff before 2000 is a little more friendly when it come to security.
