Got the clutch fork about a week or 2 ago. Had my GF help me get the trans in place and bolted up. Modded the trans xmember with the help of my friend and Bolted that shit in. Driveshaft fit, no modding necessary.

Bolted the intake and carb on, need to tap one of the bolt holes on the exhaust manifold where it meets the exhaust so i can bolt it on. After that just gotta get some oil and fire it up.

Took a pic after i was done for the day

I also got bored the other day and decided id try some clay bar and polish on the paint and i was surprised with the result

looking good; where did you get the universal wiring and for how much?
got any pictures of the transmission crossmember you modified?
was the transmission tunnel cut to allow the shifter to work or it the
    shifter in the stock location?

Wiring was an EZ Wiring kit. Picked it up on ebay, saved a few bucks.

As far as the Xmember goes it basically looks like a C notch. I didnt get any pics. I did have to cut the tranny tunnel a few inches back. I may have cut too much but good thing about metal is you can always add

Im damn nervous. The bottom end looked ok to my untrained eye. But this is my first time diving this far into an engine. I just hope it works and lasts me a while without any catastrophic failure

Honestly it aint something i wana show off lol. I feel i couldve done a much better job. hardest part was figure out where to mount the fuse box. If you decide to do it, pick up a service manual with some wiring info and a multimeter. I had to figure out how some of the stock switches worked and make em function with this kit.

Headlight switch is aftermarket and the hazards are on a toggle switch. Heater fan is on the OEM swith and im going to use a 2nd fan switch to control the wipers just off-lo-hi (no wiper fluid stuff on this one). Everything on the column i can help you with.

When the time comes that you rewire yours just PM me and il be glad to help

    Thanks man. Im getting close!

    Little update:

Got the radiator in and buttoned up. Fired it up and got the air out. Hit a snag yesterday when the temp gauge went up to ~230°. I didnt want anything bad happening so i shut it off. Hit up SDYOTA on instagram for some advice and went back out there today. Ran it, kept an eye on the gauge and it read up to 210 then dropped down between 180 and 190. (Autometer gauge and the sensor isnt in the stock location)

Followed that up by installing the new slave cylinder, bleeding the line. All good there.

After that went to bleed the brakes and the rear right wheel cylinder is frozen, going to order both cylinders for the rear seeing as they both look like theyve been replaced.

looks like you've made some progress. do mind sharing the reason why the engine was running hot?
from my experience, I've noticed that some of the 20r/22rs I've owned would tend to run hot during the summer
months here in Cali. One of my solutions would be to go with an aluminum radiator.

Well when the temp went up to where it did i was burping the cooling system. I think it might have just been an air pocket or sonething. I went back and tried it a second time the next day but this time i cut a coolant bottle in half and shoved the spout part into the radiator so when it burped up coolant it would refill and not fly everywhere. Worked out pretty good.

Sadly ive yet to drive the truck, slowly im collecting brake parts. And i need to get the throttle cable hooked up too.

Wheel cylinders are here. Ive only had time to install one though. Il probably get to the other side today.

I also ordered the parts to rebuild the 75+ calipers i have along with new rotors. Im going to clean up the spindles and maybe hit em with some paint sometime this week. Probably sandblast the calipers at my friends house next weekend.

Il post pics when i get to it

Hey man, do you have any pics of the throttle? I have a 20R in my pickup that was never routed correctly so I wanna see how it's supposed to go on the older trucks that didn't come with the 20R. I couldn't find any pictures anywhere of the actual throttle cable setups though haha

The throttle linkage was pretty much a hack job when i got it. The pedal did move the linkage but it wasnt smooth or mounted correctly.

I made a new gas pedal and im going to be using a cable instead of linkage. I purchased a universal Lokar cable from Summit Racing

Awesome man thank you, I'd still love to see when it's done, but this is at least a start haha. Everything on my truck was hacked together, so now I'm trying to fix the screwups
