wait a minute, your fuel cap is on the drivers side? mine is not!!

I've got to get my locked cap off of my truck, doing me no good without a key that works...

Yea the earlier trucks had the gas tank on the driver side because the 18R had the exhaust ran on the passenger side.
Did your truck have a 20R from factory?

    No 20R-C just the 18R-C....

I couldve sworn the gas tank placement was changed because of the engine choice. Have to say tho, the whole gas tank mounted to the bed thing is dumb as hell

Yeah, also the early trucks didn't even come with a gas door! When I first bought my truck I thought the gas door had been ripped off!

BTW what shocks are those? Specifically for Cameros?

I thought the same til i realized there were no bolt holes to even hold a door on.

and no i they were actually listed for these trucks on rockauto. Theyre the most inexpensive ones listed FCS brand.
I have to say this tho, ive cross referenced a lot of shocks for the camaro and the hilux and a lot of the same parts are listed for both so im not too sure if its even worth trying to buy a camaro specific shock

74 they changed the side the full filler was on. Only know that because a guy on YouTube said he had a 73 and someone commented that it has to be a 74 model because the gas door on the passenger side. Not sure why. Maybe it was because the driveshaft can hit the gas tank. Pretty sure that's what happened to my tank.

My driveshaft leans more towards the passenger side

after seeing @Ivey video the gas tank is still inline with the driveshaft with it being on the passenger side. Gives me the idea that mine fell off at some point.

So last weekend and this past weekend ive been working on a new console section to house my old Pioneer in-dash and some 6x9s i had picked up a while back. Still very much in the works but its coming along. Im not 100% happy with it but oh well.

Then shit began to escalate and i pulled everything out of the dash. Im going to be cleaning up some of my wiring job, ive made plenty if changes since i first wired it and i made a huge mess.

    More to come...

I see you covered up that front vent on the heater core. Do you have the core blocked off, or are you closing that vent permanently?

I know what you mean by things escalating LOL, happens to me all the time, you start with the intent of doing one thing and by the time your done you have ten different things going on. It's a good thing though,by the time your done you have several things check off your list :headbang:

I rarely use the heater and haven't actually used the front vent so it always stays closed. Its all going to stay functional, if the heater core takes a shit then il pull the entire heater box

Dash cap came off easily huh?
I've taken apart a dash board on a donor truck and I destroyed the pad in the process. Just fell apart from the anchors

My dash pad is only missing one clip and its in extremely good shape. One of my best craigslist finds. But a little tip to everyone, reach behind the dash and pinch the clips and slowly push them thru the holes. AND to get the side vents out there are 2 clips on them(top and bottom) that hold them in the dash, press the top one down and push the vent thru a little and then pull out and up.

Also yes there are bolts holding the dash in place but no it does not come out, its spot welded on that top flange that the dash pad sits on
