Enemy of the State: Thanks man! Same here about the hurricanes haha.

SD YOTA: Yeah I would love to do that. The thing is, the wheels almost poke past the fenders so going lower means that I run the risk of them hitting the fenders when the suspension compresses. If this was on a car it would be easy, just slap on stiff coilovers and be done. But since its a truck, I don't know what to do to stiffen the suspension up..

you can flex the 2wd fenders a bit to clear the tires better....... ive done it on a few trucks that had to be done if turning was still in mind

as for suspension, start looking into better shocks (bilstine's) and a set of thicker torsion bars. this will solve allot of the "soft" suspension issues. with thicker torsion bars, you increase the spring rate making it harder to compress the suspension. so this will help you in your lower ride height ventures :waytogo:

Ah thanks guys! I haven't been on here in a while.

rustedrebel09: Thats sick man. I find wheels for my truck on craigslist because it seems that everyone who drives a truck has had aftermarket wheels at some point and stuff that normally fits 4wd trucks will fit our trucks nicely if you like small wide wheels. For my ae86, I search on yahoojapan though to get the real stuff haha. I imported some ssr's from there twice now and have had good luck getting really nice, rare wheels.

SD YOTA: Thanks man, I'm hoping to get some shocks this summer, maybe some 4wd leafs too to stiffen the rear. My shocks are beyond blown so even just changing those out should help.

Oh and here's a pic. Nothing new done, I just haven't posted any pictures yet with the wheels on.

Its all grainy and old looking because I use film cameras and just learned to develop my own film in the darkroom so I kind of didn't do this one right.. I think it looks cool though. Looks like it's a super old photo haha.
