, hell my brother is going to georgia on tuesday, i'll just have him put it in the overhead storage for ya!
I have a 5 speed if you want it. I'm trying to get rid of it since I don't have any more Toyotas. Also are those the wheels you where talking about? Because those aren't SR5 wheels.
hell yeah seth i'll take it! those arent the wheels. i also have a 79 sr5, the wheels are identical as the ones that were on frank (and now ethel). you can see the centers are shiny but somebody spray painted them.... heres a pic
so as to not thread jack.. in your trucks defense i say: WTF IS THIS WHORE$HIT? (yellow/red wire) if that was my truck, before i dd'd it id find out what ANY extra (non-stock) wires were for. i cant think of many wires to run like that cept maybe a stereo or alt. most likely something F'd up and the PO "fixed it". id blame that, and i bet it leads back to missing or blown fusable links
the yellow wire is ran to the a/c clutch, which has a switch in the dash. the best i can figure is someone put the plastic dash insert thing from a sr5 in (judging by the wood grain), and it wasn't a a/c truck so the slider switch thing doesn't work(or the stock switch is bad, but i haven't checked). the red wire is just a loose wire that doesn't go to anything. i've put about 2,500 miles so far without any problems, but i guess i should have expected some.
no pics of the batt, how are the connections? if thats the OG main pos wire to the alt, i guarantee its bad. and most every gound is prolly useless unless the main was upgraded. id also look for cracking on the wires to the plug. bad wires are the #1 cause of a "tired car", sihts 30 years old.
the pos. post has been changed. when i was looking at it today i noticed the ground goes straight from the battery to the side core support. then one from the body to chassis and engine. i checked and cleaned all the connections as well.
changed the alternator this morning and she's all fixed now. i had a second alt. in the garage off a 75 celica, but the plug was different, so i bought a reman for $30.
